Projectors headlamps for our car

Are they available? If so, has anyone done an install? Is it hard?

heres outlaws i did
-bmw x5 xenon projectors
-audi hella ballasts
-osram 4100k d2s bulbs

if ur good at hands on type work then its not too hard. its getting them to look oem and aim correctly that is the hard part. any1 can cut a hole in a headlamp, but make it look and function like oem is a diff story. as far as parts i generally sell everything for
-xenon setup for about $350-400 shipped
-bi-xenon for about $400-450 shipped
but since you already have a d2r system you could just get projectors.
-about $120 shipped for standard projectors
-about $160 for bi-xenons

this will give you an idea whats involved with just taking the headlamps apart.

best advice is to plan ahead and have another car to get around while yours is down. also dont modify anything unless you have to. also dont use a cordless dremel or similar tool use the shit that plugs into the wall and use overkill bits, carbide cutters go through plastic like butter.

VXCL... very nice. I'm impressed. I more just wanted to know if it was possible. Being that I've only owned my CLS for about 2 months, I have a LARGE list of mods which will most likely take me the rest of the year to complete. Projectors are on that list, just closer to the bottom.

Thanks for the info though. Once I'm ready I'll be in touch.

Ohh also, I know just the basics about HIDS/Xenons. Mind explaining what d2r is and the difference between standard and bi-xenon?

thanks guys

d2r and d2s are the same thing except that d2r have a black coating blocking light in certain areas. this is becuase d2r are used in reflector setups like 2nd gen cl. it keeps glare down for oncomming traffic. d2s have no coating and are used in projector setups and since no light is blocked they are brighter. how much more i dont know. they are both 35 watt and have same connectors. if u really want a pic i can take one, or just look at ur own or on ebay.

oh bixenon is a projector with a solenoid on the cutoff plate inside than can drop it down to allow all the light through. this allows for EXTREMELY bright light output and awesome high beams. and since the bulb is doing any work u can drop the shield up and down all u want. u can flash insanely fast!

I've never seen any like em. They seem to the farthest reaching, widest spreading, brightest shining projectors around. Not to mention that crisp ass lid.

So, just to double check... It is possible to put S2k d2s bi-xenons in a 2001 (2ndgen) CL-s. Correct? And the only cutting I should have to do is a hole in my headlamp housing to mount the projector? If this is possible, does anyone know if I'll get the same (or simular) look as the S2k?

Man the MODS over there are even dicks. They will close a thread because a new member comes over ask a very simple question that could be answered easily but instead closes the thread and call them a dumbass. The reason being that the member did not do a search.

I wish I could start www.acura-rsx.com

obviously i can do it, but im looking into learnin how to use fiberglass so i can make my own trim pieces so they come out even better. most projectors dont come with trim pieces that are really useful. i hope to learn this summer.
