Problem rolling rear fenders
Problem rolling rear fenders
Hey guys, I got a new wheel setup for me 2003 Acura CL-S and the rear tires rub. They are 19x8.5 +30 with 235-35-19 tires.
I have a buddy with a fender roller and when we went to roll the fenders, we saw that there was some sort of extra bracing or extra metal on top of the part of the fender that you roll, and this stopped us from fully rolling the fender. I was just expecting a thin piece of fender to be rolled like most other cars, but this is not the case.
I was wondering if anyone else ran into this problem. We are using a heat gun but I am scared to continue putting pressure on this extra thick part of the fender and mess up the body or paint. Any help or comments are appreciated!

Thanks for the replies, I'm guessing the extra metal underneath had to be from bodywork a previous owner did (just not sure why/how). And yes, the tire did take a beating, I recently downsized to a 225 instead of 235 and it rubs way less now.
