I need to go grab some PSF today and I called the nearest Acura for the part number. They gave me 08206-9002A as the part. When I called the local Honda dealer which is 15 miles closer, they gave me the part as 08206-9002. The guy said there is actually no 'A' at the end. Is this non-A fluid the same fluid? Am I safe using it in my '01 3.2CL ?

 

im pretty sure the "A" just means it has Acura Logo on the bottle instead of the Honda logo.

 

I used Honda powers steering fluid on my leak before
my rack was replaced.
It's exactly the same stuff as what Acura sells. Might even be cheaper...

 

Honda or Acura is fine. Advance sells Honda specific PSF, its what I've been running in my car for the past year.

To be safe just pick the stuff up from your local Honda or Acura parts department.

I had a shop (that I'll never be going to again) change out my rack last year. They used normal PSF and sure enough the rack blew its seals in a day or two(I didn't know they put in normal PSF, didn't think I had to tell them >_>). Every last drop of PSF spilled out on my garage floor, an awesome way to start my day.

Got a new rack (again), had it put in by a honda/acura J series specialist. We filled er' up with advance honda PSF and I haven't had an issue since.

The moral of the story: If it doesn't say honda or acura don't use it, even in an emergency. The wrong fluid will pop your rack and pinion almost instantly, and having your car towed is cheaper than a new rack + installation. I keep an unopened bottle of honda PSF in my trunk just in case, considering my bad luck in the past.
