Power Steering Fluid

does anybody else notice that their power steering reservoir is covered in fluid and dirt but the cap is tight? the fluid level is getting very close to the min fill line.

does the fluid need to be replaced or should i just top it off?

You have a leaky power steering reservoir. EXACT same thing happened to me. You will probably notice fluid underneath the reservoir if you look. It's a warranty item. If out of warranty, you should argure that the leak occurred months ago by the very look and age of the old fluid and crap around the reservoir.

I searched & found this thread which applies to my problem.

It seems the fluid is coming out of the cap because there is fluid on top of the cap.

Can I just replace the cap, why doesn't it have a positive means of fastening?
