Possible Poly Radius Rod Busings

Sup fellas. So Its been A while since I posted much on here. I still have my CL, Ive just been so busy with work I haven't had much time to do anything new with it or even think about doing anything exciting with it. I am about to finally start working on my mounts and do them myself with Polyurethane thanks to all the research by some of you who have done them already and a very informative thread. I really wish someone made a bushing kit for our car because I really think it needs one. The front end of my car is still pretty solid at 86k. The only thing I want to replace when I do my mounts are the radius rod bushings. I had a crx with traction bars and it made a world of a difference, so I could imagine how radius rod bushings would help our cars if there were some strong ones. I saw several people express the same interest and do some research on accord/prelude bushings and possible swaps that might require some modification. I would rather have something that fits just like the factory ones. This may sound funny, but I showed my mother the thread on custom poly motor mounts and how i planned on doing them as she was visiting me when I was planning some mods for when i get my check from uncle sam this year. She is a dental hygenist and got creative telling me she could bring some materials that they use to take dental impressions and copy something like a bushing. I am seriously considering taking her up on the offer to take some 'impressions' of factory radius rod bushings so I can make some molds to fill with poly and make my own bushings. Anyway, I have gotten so much help from some of you in this forum I would love to make this a DIY or keep the impressions to make more for anyone who was interested. It may take me a month or so to get around to this, but I will definitely keep everyone posted on the progress and if it is successful I will offer to make more for you guys as long as my costs and a small portion of my time is covered. I am going to order both bushings from one side and see if I can get a little dental assistance in making the mold. If anyone is interested please share your thoughts!!

Hey man, I remember you from the NRG torque dampners thread. You really helped lead the way with those. Had mine on a year and a half and they're great.
Good to see you back on here doing mods. If you make these bushings I will buy, no doubt. This car could really benefit from more traction. Making good power isn't the problem.
I have been patiently waiting for a quality mount kit, or bushing kit, or traction bars... I'm interesting in anything that will make this car more drive-able. FWD ... FTL

That would be great! I would only need one front and one rear bushing. From the diagram ive seen they are the same on both sides, but there are two on each side. As soon as I confirm that i will have the materials I will hit you up for those. If it works I will donate you a set for the assistance in the project!

I have 217k on my car and i've never changed the rad rod bushings. Rush please advise if you found ES bushings that fit our cars. All I can find aftermarket are Moogs which are rubber, but probably better than stock as most everything Moog makes is. I was going to go that route soon, but if ES makes some that fit our cars I'm all in.

I had a new one go on my cl and the wheel was in and out of alignment intermittently and they replaced for free but still... makes me wonder.

where do they go and what do they do.

Sorry if i sound like a noob, but I know jack all about bushings, especially on this car

#10 and 11 (17 and 18 are the forks that go aroung the cv axle and attach to the springs/shocks; then #1 is the front sway bar)

ok and what does poly filling them do exactly.... obv it stiffens them but what advantage does that give? is it performance enhancing or is it simply for longevity purposes

poly filling? not really possible, gotta kinda buy them pre-made (unless you can work with the stuff really well)

purpose? no different then any other urethane suspension bushing; minimize the softness of the stock bushings

but probably the main thing is to try and cut down on the wheel-hop (not so much on the autos though), with keeping the wheel from moving forward and back too much or to rapidly

In regards to Moog bushings, I replaced the OEM inner/outer LCA bushings on my CLS with Moog's and they split in under 12 months, especially the outer ones. Went back to OEM and have had no problems. Now I know these are not radius rod bushings; however, I would shop around before opting for Moog's YMMV.

Ok fellas.
Just bought all the materials needed to make some 80a bushings for 2001-03, 99-03 TL's. I'll be contacting astro about starting a feeler thread with pricing and group buy interest.
