A couple people have turbos running over 400 whp, but none have tracked their cars. I think you would have serious traction problems to hit 12s.

FWD cars are not the best for track. As said above, traction will be a serious issue. As is stock, if you try to launch, you still can spin through the first 2-3 gears. So with a big turbo set up, it's even more doubtful to get a solid launch. These cars I think are meant more for having highway pulls against other cars already going a certain speed.

12's yes.... low 12's might be a bit of a stretch.

You'll definetly need a good suspension, and Drag Radials to dip into the 12's... Not to mention some form of forced induction.

traction..damn FWD..but keep in mind those people that spin tires through first 2-3 gears on a stock type-s are people that are dropping the clutch, u can launch at 1500rpms and only spin through 1st maybe.

Oh boy... just buy an Evo or STi instead of even considering an AWD conversion, don't even know if that's posible anyway. And I don't know what numbers you're looking at, but I've only seen 14.8 auto and 14.6 6-speed for a stock CL-S unless it's a factory-freak w/ drag radials

I gotcha, of course everyone WANTS to go 12s, but a AWD conversion is going to cost you way more than just buying a used STi or EVO and drop a g or two and see 12s easily. I say just bolt on some wheelie bars and say it does 12s and save yourself some $$$ until you can afford an AWD turbo'd car.

AWD conversion...anything is technically possible if u have the money? i have a friend thats a mechanic and the other day asked him the same question,"is a RWD or AWD conversion possible?" i forget all the details to his response, but in a nutshell he said AWD would be more possible and would involve a lot of custom work on the drivetrain and extending it and all this other shit..and that there would be no point unless it was turbo (which would be the reason for the conversion duh) cuz u'd need a lot more power to go to those two rear wheels..sounds like a plan!! anyone wanna front me the dough?!? lol

The CL & TL are the wrong cars for track use & even trying to get into 12's.
That would take a 6mt CL(forget auto =blow it up) with a 3.5 conversion & then on top of that a SC or turbo. Plus drags, & light wheels & you'd still be in the high 12's. You'll likely blow you axles out real quick too.

I don't know about everyone here but I bought my car because it was quick enough for daily driving, plus the luxury of having an acura. If you want to hit low 12's take a beater civic and put a k20 turbo and be done with it. If you want an AWD system for cheap, go buy a used eclipse GSX. Sorry for the rant but I never would think our cars would be a good track cars, considering the weight and also the FWD aspect. If you want to go low 12's in our cars then you give up the reliability of the cars j32's engine. Good luck on trying to achieve low 12's in this car, but don't make another thread saying "I blew up the car" because of your aspiration of making a luxury car into a track car. *ranting over*
