Poser Galore

As I am sure this might get locked quickly but...

Why are there so many poser galore out there. What I mean is that there are many seasoned members of this forum who have plenty of talk. But yet they never run their car, turn a wrench on their car, know nothing about their car, but yet have plenty to talk about all while sounding ignorant??

I guess I'm a bit confused, if you have hot cars but know nothing about them, is that valid?? BTW, this is mainly talking about the people who have earnest opinions about the CL but don’t own one!!!

BTW, it was time for my bi-annual diatribe...

i agreee, but i am scared to try anything on a new car. I'll work on and older car till i am blue in the face (even if I don't really know what I am doing!!!) but on this car i need it everyday. Since i don't have an understanding of electronics etc, and the complete lack of $$$$ these days ....i just can't do it. But i think one should be able to put in the headers...springs etc themsellves. But then, warrany issues arise. That is always in the back of my mind, too.

Sorry to see you so pissed Scalbert!

OMG I could not agree more. Some people on this board think they know everything automotive I swear people invent shit just to talk the talk. I'm no expert in anything automotive personally and my experiences and what I know is only limited to what I have done first hand.

In my automotive life I've torn a 2.8 liter V6 (grenaded motor) out of an S-10 Blazer with the help of some friends and dumped in a good old fresh from the crate 5.7 Liter V8 back in my truck days. I've modded up a Mitsu GSX that I owned before the CLS to run some pretty decent numbers down at Raceway Park, now I have the CLS and honestly have not done shit to it personally. I've kinda shyed away from the whole self modding thing dunno why. BUT.. we are covered with people that I call 'Magazine Mechanics, Research Mechanics, and just plain bullshitters.

Back in the day I'll admit I used to be a bit of a Magazine mechanic until I was humbled by someone who really know their shit. Nowadays I'm more inclined to just sit back and watch these types of discussion take place and laugh, ofcourse. I'm no better than anyone here and I even admit to being like this kinda person years back, I guess the truth is sometimes you can just smell the bullshit before it even lands in the grass.

Seeing what some of you guys have gone thru or rather battled with at the dealership when it comes to the warranty coverage, I won’t touch this car unless it's one of their mechanics doing the work. I’ve had too much trouble and spent too much money fixing cars out of warranty that I’m going leave well enough alone for now.

BTW, it is not about being angry, liking or hating anyone. In fact, I don't know 99.999% of the people on this board to form an opinion one way or another. So no, I don't hate or dislike anyone.

I just made an, what nows appears to me to be, a too quick of an expression of things I have viewed. As it stands right now, I like everyone here, but I may not agree with everyones views or statements. In such, I may be prone to make bold statements at times and often, from the hip...
