Poll: Purchase a TL style body kit bolt on for a CL

This is for FRONT valiance and side skirts only. If the front valiance and side skirt were formed to fit our CL (2nd generation) and then sent to a manufacturer who would mold and then duplicate the pieces. It would allow for bolt on ability to all the 2nd gen CL. Dont get too excited, pricing has not been discovered...So lets just say front and sides as a package would be $800. How many eyebrows does that raise? Lets also assume that is would be primed and not painted.

Can U get a molder to commit & mold 1 sample 1st before we CL owners put out the money, I am very sure many of us are not willing to give some shop our $ before seeing & inspecting the finished product.

In my past research, it takes a chunk of $ to make a mold, most/if not all molders won't take a chance to invest in a mold for the CL due to the CL's demise.

Damn, I know WingsWest, EreBuni, ect... didn't want to invest in a mold the CL ...

Yeah, good idea. And check out Charles' album pictures... His modified TL bodykit should be the reference design.

Of course

This is just a poll. Charles both you and I have done this kit as well as two others...well this is very pricey to do and a project at that where our cars are not available to us. These reasons led me to think that if this source I have that does custom molding might do this work I can allow those intersted in a bolt on kit will have their option. I probably would mold as many as I think there are intersted buyers. A final price has to be committed to before I start this endeavour. It has to be affordable and eurathane prduct would be my the only way. If enough people say they are intersted I will move on to the next step. No money down would be necessary. I would take full responsibility.

I am very sure if the kit looks anything like the TL kit & it's reasonably priced, I think many CLers would buy one. If I remmember correctly, talking w/ WingsWest / or my bodyshop guy, it take about $50K-100K or more to make a mold.

That's a big chunk of change that many molders were not willing to take a risk on.

The problem with the rear valiance is that I would have to start over and create it then mold it. Plus I believe the rear needs some work overall, however this is a poll that will create interest. I think I will look into this overall if I see more good results. With more interest I look into options of the rear. AS asked about above the front and sides should be completely bolt on if this were to happen. If i couldnt get bolt on then I would give up.

i'd consider it, but i've got a plan for the money i have currently so IF i were to want to make a purchase it would be down the line a bit. but overall i'd just have to wait and see this dealy in person or on a whitey like mine.

I'd interested. I'd want to see the product first of course. Also what is the benefit of eurethane over fiberglass or whatever the default material is?

Eurethane: more expensive, bendable/flexible to certain extent, more durable to rock chips, TL kit is made of this material.
