Please Look at This

Hi,

I just bought a 2002 TL. It has 2k miles onit. Got it in Feb. I was washing it today and noticed this on booth front doors. I bought it with 8 miles on it.

This does not look normal. Looks like it was hastily slapped togrther or maybe the card was in an accident and they tried to fix it.

Let me know what u think.

Thanks,

Mark

Here is the driver front side. In fact the rear doors (where the side meets the top) has similar marks. I will post those when I get a chance.

I think those look normal.

The door and the window frame are 2 diff parts and welded together during manufacturing process.

i believe that is the plastic covering that's on your car when shipped. they just didn't remove it cleanly. all you have to do is pull and wiggle it until it comes out. either that or have the dealer remove it.

It is not plastic. It looks and feels like metal. It looks like a bad attempt to solder a joint. The part that is white on the picture is actually black. It looks like they tried to smear that stuff over it to smooth it out.

I just checked mine. THIS IS TOTALLY NORMAL. Its kind of hack job by the factory on the splicing of the two metal pieces but I have the same exact thing and I bought the car with 6 miles on it.

You have too much time on you hands to even notice this...

Hey, I can understand...if you spend so much $$ for a car and you just happen to notice something like this out of the corner of your eye...you just go ballistic.

If you want piece of mind, take it back to the dealer and have the service manager look at it with you.
