Please help my curiosity....

I was working outside all day by my CL and I noticed something very weird. With the car parked and alarm set, about every 5mins or so, I can hear a motor turn on and run about 3sec. What the hell is this. It does it all day long and I can't figure out what it is. It seems to be coming from the mid section or the car and is pretty loud. My only guess is that it is the fuel pump but that doesn't make any sense. Please help.

are u sure it is the motor? does it sound like a humming noise? My 99 TL hums... I talked about it once on the TL board. I found that this is a rare, harmless "problem" throughout the Honda line. hold on let me go dig up the thread. it is called "tale of the haunted TL."

My CL makes the same noise? It sounds like its coming from the driver's rear tire area.

I spoke with a technician at my dealer and he said it is posssibly the ABS performing a self check. This is normal but the frequency this is occuring is not. I am having it looked at on Friday, more for curiosity than concern.
