My 2003 CL had the ABS and TCS lights on for a few months. I read a few threads and found I could reset them by jumping the #4 and #5 holes with a paper clip in the computer connector under the driver's dash and follow the instructions. I tried and nothing happened BUT I found I jumped #5 and #9 instead. Now my car won't start. Any suggestions? Yes, my eyes aren't the best.
Forgot to mention that the car cranks strongly and the shifter is stuck in park. I read somewhere that this may be a sign of a bad main relay. If so, where would that part be located.
^^
Sorry to hear. Shortly after purchasing my car in 2002, I would get a random SRS light that would come on. Took it to the dealer once, they said it could not be replicated, so no repair was done. When it appeared again, I researched it online and observed similar 'hack' remedies as you mention above.
Since I did not want to risk 'paperclipping' the wrong pins, I just paid the $10 or so and purchased the correct tool, circled in yellow, available via Acura / Honda vendors. I used it plenty of times when the drivers faulty buckle set triggered the light. I eventually got around to having Acura replace the buckle set for free under the lifetime warranty.
Good Luck!

DLC pins 4 & 5 are both grounds. But, have different components tied in on their circuits. Pin 9 is the service check signal (SCS) for OBD2.
In any case, even if you had jumped the correct pins it wouldn't have reset the SRS light. That method is intended to display codes via fast and slow blinks on the check engine light.
Perhaps in handling the bare paperclip you discharged static? IDK

Check your fuses. You probably popped one when you jumped the incorrect pins.

Is that lifetime warranty available to people who bought their car second hand? My SRS light has been on since I bought, and I'm sick of it. Really don't want to have to deal with an Acura dealership though. How bad of an idea would it be to replace the buckle my self?

Good question!
IIRC'ly, when the light is on the system is disabled.
The below image was taken from my Acura 2003 Warranties booklet supplied with the car.
My interpretation is that you would be covered, as a multiple owner, because if the car is drivable when presented to the dealership, it has proven 'useful life'.
Though, if you indeed have a 'SRS' light they may need to diagnose (thus a fee us charged) the actual 9-3 seatbelt buckle switch code to file a warranty claim?
Some have had the 'fee' waived, due to their negotiating prowess, and some just paid the diag. fee to be done with it.
The seat belt buckle set is like $88.24 before shipping, if that is confirmed by the 9-3 srs code.

I'd rather pay $88 to do it myself than have Acura hold my car for a week.
When you say disabled, what parts exactly are disabled? Certainly not my airbags.. right?

SRS light is supplementary restraint (airbag) system. Thus a detected fault disables the airbags. I would suggest clicking the latch in the buckle several times and then try to reset the light. I used to have a sporadic srs light on the cls. When i did the chassis swap, I replaced the driver side buckle with 6ga buckle and it hasn't come back. knock on wood.
The 6ga buckle had been replaced by honda in 2013, so 10 yrs newer

IIRC'ly, I finally had the driver buckle set replaced in 2011 when I got around to getting the OPDS unit checked on the attached Service Bulletin.
The next time the SRS light triggered, I made an appointment to check the OPDS and had them check the code. They ordered the buckle set, it took a week to get, when it arrived in stock, they called, I dropped by, the replacement took them 10-15 minutes & I was out, no charge.
03, CL. I tried for about three years to use the paperclip method to keep resetting the SRS light. It just kept coming back on. So I took it to my local small one man garage. He diagnosed the driver seatbelt female portion containing the sensor as bad. I ordered the part and replaced it. (~75bucks from Acura) Good as new since then. I wish I knew an Acura local mechanic that is trustworthy, coulda had it done for free under lifetime warranty.
