Guys, I've been hearing nothing but good deeds about Pleasanton Acura, so it's sad that I have to say this. I spoke with their internet sales manager (there's only one so I won't name him) and guess what he did? After I told him that I was going to another dealership cause of his price, he hung up on me. WHAT THE FUCK IS up with that? That is is just fucking lame. I hope their regular sales ppl are better. I mean yeah i did tell him I was going witha nother dealership, but where's the common courtesey. No "Well thank you for your time, and if your deal falls through, feel free to call", just *click*. ARGH!

 

that is pretty fucked up... call his manager and complain... see if you can get anything out of it... even better get his ass fired...

I tried to pull that on me too. He gave me a price and said not to share it with other dealers. BS! He tried to make it seem like I was getting away with something..

Just for that, I got another dealer to give me a quote for 300 less than what he was offering. Ended up with 500 off his original offer to me.

I got that impression too, he thinks he is the sh!t. When I went back there for service, he didn't even recognize me. And this was only 1 month later.

Sales people and their stupid games. Screw him. His manager is Dan Simat just in case you are interested.

Well basically this is the problem with the Bay area. They think they are so fucking hot that everyone wants their stuff, that's why they have lots full of cars. ta hell with this BS and yes his name is RC. I'm going back to Pasadena Acura. The price RC gave me <u>without</u> the wing was actualyl greater than what pasadena gave me for the wing. What's dumb is I called this loser a month ago and he thought I was someone else. Anyhow, he quoted me at 800 above invoice, so he said 30,750. I'm like okay maybe that's plus destiantion. Called me 2 days ago and said he was selling at 300 above invoice, and it was now 30,645... wtf.. what a bitch....

Hey Man, Do not feel bad. I went down there about 2wks ago and looked at a CL-P. They acted as if they did not want to wait on me. SO FINALLY we took it out for a drive and the fucker tried telliing me all this about what the car has, what it does blah blah blah. (I know more about the car than he does) I was getting agitated and mad. So finally we get back and done some numbers and they did not want to get me in the area I wanted to be in with a good down payment. I told him that Oakland Acura has a better deal and they have some kinda Protection Package that you MUST buy on there cars there. He got pissed and said well thats way out there, why drive there when you can buy here? I told him, I would wait until I got the BEST deal I could on a CL. He said well we will see what we can do. I will give you a call today and let you know what we can do for you on a lease as well as buying, ok. I never heard from that fucker again, but its ok, I am still looking and saving more. I will NOT get my car from there!!!

Yeha and they had the same price as Pleasanton. I'm pretty much decided on buying from Pasadena... even though it is a ways away, will give me a chance to visit the parents...

 

Sorry to hear about it- not all sales people are assholes, there are plenty of good ones, but a whole lot of bad ones.....the Acura guys can be a bit edgy from what I have noticed (very few seem desperate for business).....my sales guy was the farthest thing from a jerk- non pushy, straightforward, and beat any price I got from another dealer (didn't get insulted one bit).

 

I can only respond to this post as nothing but false allegations and being a bad sport. I personally know the Internet Manager, and this person must answer over 100 emails a day, and deal with Rude people like this. It is just about business, Is this the same guy that wrote such untruth?

No kidding, it's all about business. And as a business I just feel it's common courtesey to wish your potential customers a good day. I had to email him to see if he hung up on me or the other way. When he responds "I was under the conception the call was over" that to me made me feel he hung up. Look, this matter in my book is closed. I'm moving on.

FYI, I wrote that. And if it's all the same to you, I offered the common courtesey to RC that I felt I should have gotten myself. Thank you.

Umm, it may be not that they don't know how to shop....but it could be that many of these people don't give a shit- they go in, pick out the car they want (lease it, finance it, cash) and its done.

Doesn't matter what sales your in (cars, stocks, software, ice cubes to Eskimos, etc)- if someone contacted you or stopped in and you have a good feeling that they weren't going to shop around......would you shoot out your lowest price, I don't think so.

Being courteous to a customer is a different story....I'll pay more $$$ for a good salesperson and service- versus some cock who gives me a better price.

Of course, I know nothing about this particular dealership.

Just my .02 cents: I've bought 2 cars from Frank DeLa Riva (I'm know I'm spelling that wrong), at Pleasanton Acura. I couldn't be happier with the way Frank dealt with me, and both buying experiences were great. I initiated my first purchase from them through the internet, and did get a couple of emails and phone messages from Mr. Clarkson. Nothing really sticks out either way about him. Their Service Dept. is incredibly polite.. altho their use of service "advisors" rather than mechanics is a little off-putting, since they never seem to know what I'm talking about. That may be industry standard now, I don't know. They do seem to do good work, tho I was told it would be a week before I could schedule my last oil change. Overall a good dealership, with issues just like any other.

The problem with selling cars to people like you guys is you play the game. You will not tell the salesperson what you want to do. So ho inicates the back and forth? Not the Salesperson. Everything is out there and if you use Emunds or Cars.com you will know what to buy the car for. So if you want an easy transaction, dont play games and just tell the salesperson what you want to do. Pretty simple.

 

This guy makes no sence, and if he had the balls to buy twenty cars, why hasn't he got them. It is obvious he is offering some unrealistic offer.
