Flounders pics and instructions for AC filter change.
When snipping the holders on the plastic covering on a never been changed CLS..
"Do not Discard"
Well I bought my 2001 CLS Certified Used.
It's been discarded.
1.Is it vital to the good functioning of the AC filter process?
2. If so can one be easily found and horked off a wrecked CLS?
Or best wishes finding, I have to go dealer route?

Peice of duct tape or "engineer" something to take the place of the factory peice.
Call around to the local junk yards. You don't need the part from just a CL. A TL (or maybe even an accord) should work. It only takes like 10-15 minutes to pop the glovebox (less once you've done it once), so you could check a few cars in the junkyard for that peice in an hour.
I'm thinking that because the peice you're looking for is part of the dash, you might have to buy a whole dash and cut the peice out
If it was my car, I'd slap some duct tape on it and call it a day
