Hmmmm

Jens will have installed enough of those by the time I am ready.

I hope to have mine done the week of PAA.. I got 2 weeks vacation coming to me this year and I will go down early and have it installed.

How many hours install.. Jens quoted me 10 hours..

How much did the install cost you?

well first gear if you floor it youll need new michelins its a very smooth power delivery.starts boosting from 2500 and up and when you hit vtec hold on real tight all the way to redline and it pulls hard all the way there.every gear its very strong i mean the way it pulls is so smooth unlike a turbo where there is some lag this thing just wails and the sound is so sweet.one thing i have to say its worth the money even though its a big investment.4th gear and 5th same thing just pulls and pulls and feels like 2nd gear all the time.hows that for some info

You say that PAA did an excellent install, but didnt you have throttle cutout problems after you got it back?

I was thinking the same thing. The thread must have been deleted. I was curious to see what some of the "tuning" issues were w/ the SC install but couldn't find the thread yesterday.

The tuning issue revolved around a minor hesitation at part throttle acceleration going trhough the 2500 to 3500 rpm range .The problem was resolved by making a minor change to the settings on the ESM (electronic signal modifier) so that it correctly showed a full throttle vacuum signal to the PCM.Our PCM is unable to deal with a boost signal from the MAP sensor this is why the ESM is installed to show the PCM a signal that only shows max accell but no boost .WHen the PCM/ECM sees boost or a vacuum signal that exceeds 29.99 inches of vacuum the PCM dials down the ignition advance and the car exhibits some bucking untill the signal from the MAP sensor returns to what it considers normal operation .Please note that this does not set a DTC code at the signal levels we are talking about here .Essentially the car thinks there is a backfire going on and dials back timing untill the event goes away .

Actually the ESM was suspected as having been installed incorrectly or a vacuum problem which was not the case here. The real problem was that it was slightly out tune ,no big deal at all but this where everyone should realize that minor tuning is very common when major mods are undertaken on vehicles untill the car runs at the full potential possible .

Cool, thanks for the update. I'll keep this in mind when I start testing tonight. I see the potentiometer on the side of the ESM, I assume you decreased the clamp level??

Yes counterclockwise will show the PCM a lower number for the inches of vacuum part of this .However I used a scan tool that shows me actual output for this .I am not certain what the numbers will be if you are using just a volt/ohm meter .Let me just reiterate that unless you have an actual problem that neither the Fuel pressure regulator nor the ESM should be adjusted .In this particular case the ESM was ever so slightly out of range which caused a minor problem .

I have software on my laptop to read the parameters from the ECU ( http://www.obd-2.com ) I don't want to calculate out the slope and offset for the voltage output to engineering unit conversion...

Definitely, I'd prefer not to touch them.

Awesome Type1967 !! Two things, what would you guess it shaved off your 0-60, and how's the driveability around town. Congrats and good luck.

ok 0-60 in the high 4s quater mile id say low13s but with slicks which i do not recomend slicks due to shock on drivetrain.im sure with slicks 13.0 is acheivable.
