PICS North Jers. Another one bites the dust. Raped 9/2/06

Im just leaving my job and my boss goes "mike is that your alarm going off?" So i run outside just to see my headlights and pioneer dvd flipout jacked and my window broken and front bumper/hood messed up. I was across the parking lot inside the store and could not even hear the weak piece of trash alarm going off. probly didnt even start going off until they opened the door. might have to get a shock sensor or whatever theyr called.

Sooo...got statefarm full coverage. Anyone know what i should expect to get or any tips on getting the most money back?? I had tints on the windows too. and the pioneer unit cost 360 just to have put in, whiich is all broken down on the receipt. got 300 dollar 6000k lights also. ipod stolen also. can i expect to be compensated for things like this also?? first time, so im kinda a wreck wondering what i should expect or if ill get screwed bu the insurance company. i live in union county tho, probly wont be the last time ill deal with this cockscking mess

It depends on the insurance company but if you provide them receipts they will honor it. The Ipod most likely will be a loss but the headunit you may be able to get them to pay. That sucks man looks like a pretty clean job too. It's horrible that its so easy to take our bumpers off. Get a better alarm the OEM alarm sucks and they probably have been watching you to know you have that headunit.

Before you turn in any reciepts, check with your local Acura dealer on jobber replacement cost of the pieces missing. Sometimes you will get more in return by letting the Ins. Co. pay for stock replacement items instead of aftermarket items.

We had an Integra that some A**hole stole the 17" wheels (cheap ones) off of.
The Ins. Co. did not want to replace the wheels with anything but stock GSR wheels. It wound up costing them an extra $550.00. So we had the shop order us the 18" Tenzo R wheels that we wanted.

That fucking sucks. Where were you parked? Some people are major assholes to do that to someone else's car. Good luck getting it repaired.

Damn homie...that really sucks....but yea did you ensure any of your aftermarket stuff because i thought insurance would only cover for stuff you insured on your car and most likely they dont pay for the aftermarket stuff....but i would claim i had NAVI and a couple other pricey OEM pieces so you can get some kind of money back....

sucks man...sorry to see that...like ravi said...watch your back now....my friends truck just got broke into yesterday...all they took was his in dash tv....and his backpack w/ textbook....left dvd's and the extra tv in the back...and cd's....went str8 crowbar on his dash....

f*cking theives... i despise them...

You can't claim you had navi if you don't. The insurance agency isn't that dumb, it is in your vin whether you have navi or not. Telling someone to commit insurance fraud is fucking retarded.

Your best bet is to go to them with the recipts and see what they will reimburse you for. I know people who got reimbursed for aftermarket steroes on their car even though they never told the insurance company before hand. The only thing they most likely won't cover is your IPOD since its not bolted into the car.

Damn that is shitty man.

Anything attached to the car permanently will be covered by your car insurance company. You won't always have to have receipts for it all.

Anything NOT attached to the car (such as the iPod) will (should) be covered by your homeowners insurance (and possibly renter's insurance).

Good luck man. I've been thru breakins before and they suck. Never head a headlight stolen though. That sucks more than anything.

WOW, sorry to hear about that loss, and like mclarenf3387 said, try and find your receipts or go to where you bought the HU and see if you can get a copy, you should be ok; State Farm is very good with claims. What town was that in?

Dumbest suggestion ever.

If they do not cover it, sometimes you can file a claim with your home owners insurance company for the Ipod. I think it is covered even if it was in your car.

http://www.insurance-galaxy.com/insurance-property.html

Typically, this type of insurance will cover you when you travel. If, for example, your luggage and belongings are taken from your car, insurance may protect you. For that matter, if your belongings from home are stolen or damaged, you should be covered.
I got the insurance company to repair one of my bent wheel when I was rear-ended even though it was after market and I never submitted a receipt.

Years back when I was still in school, my parents homeowners insurance covered all of my school books, $2500 in CD's AND a pair of house speakers that just happened to be in my trunk at the time. No receipts needed. They just needed me to list everything. Listing all of the CD's was the hardest part. I'm still pissed about losing all of that music.

<--- music nerd.

Also with home owner's insurance or renter's insurance, you do not have to have submitted any receipts. They typically will include a certain amount for electronics.

im from springfield but my car got robbed in vauxhall section of union township. its always someone you know. def haters scoping me out for a while now. yeh north jersey no joke, especially union and essex county. i know someone on this forum has seen NJ DRIVE lol. YOu cant have anything nice anymore, degenerate pricks always on your balls.

The damages to the car obviously shouldnt be a problem, its just the pioneer dvd flipout unit that has me worried. cost me 1600 total, including 350 installation which i probaly wont see again. and the deductible is 250. im most likely taking it to Union Collision, friend of mine kenny owns the place they do good work there if anyone has the same problem as me...

My insurance company statefarm said what i have didnt cover a rental car, so right now im driving my sisters 90 toyota camry.

Platano-i would look into a better security system, but my belief is if they want it bad enough theyr gonna get it. plus i park in parking garages alot so loud systems would just drain my battery like crazy if i had a super sensitive vibration security system. i see it happening all the time at school. theres not much you can do, just park in well lit places and use your garage if you can. I was careless though....the unit had a removable faceplate and i didnt take it with me..ended up getting screwed. If i had taken it with me, my guess is they wouldnt have even bothered with it...but who knows.

I'm in that area all the time. Defiantely invest in some sensors for the head lights when you have the new ones installed.

Where or WTF is NJ DRIVE?

Also I got rocked 2 years ago for about 3000+ in Audio Equipment at Livingston Mall in my Old Accord thinking my car is safe inside of a nice city. WRONG... my shit got jacked in probably a month after working there. Never again will I install so much Audio into a vehicle.

NJ DRIVE is a movie made i think in the early 90s that takes place in Newark, although due to zoning and government regulations, most of it was actually filmed in new york. its about bascally, the hood turning into a circuis. thugs steal cars for fun, its pretty crazy. def a must own if your from jers. fun to watch as long as its not your car

Hum, how did they rip the radio out without even scratching the install kit? and they even took the brain! Who insalled your radio? They would be the first suspects!

that totally sucks.

had my lights jacked in newark back in '01 when the car was new, from your photo looks like the same job, pried them out...

the car was parked in a secured, gated parking lot. guard told me they hit five cars that day. f'ing inside job probably...

the body shop had like 10 cars in the yard w/o headlights, shop owner told me he was seeing 40 cars a month. my bill came to $5k. shoulda gone into auto body repair...

good luck.

Good call. It does seem weird that they will be able to take it out so easily. It took me a while to get my HU out the first time I did it.
