Pics of my rides, party pics, a TL review, and a tire question

Alright, so I was originally going to title this post, "anna kournikova is in my car" and try to get everyone's attention, but I figured that would be a dirty trick and just went with the honest trust instead...

here's a link to some pics of my car, I cleared the lenses and painted the housings silver, that's probably the biggest mod I have done, More pics to come, also on there are some pics at a christmas party, and some pics of my 1954 Buick Special (that is for sale).

My Photos

Lastly, my car is getting serviced today and I got a 2003 TL 5 speed, and this car is making me so happy that I bought the CL-S 6 speed. Don't get me wrong, the TL is great, but it is so much more a "hip mom car" than the 6-speed CL-S. I'm sure the TL-S is a much nicer cruiser.
*end of my review*

I was informed by the dealer that it is time to get new tires (26,000 miles). I was wondering what everyone has on their car, stock wheels or aftermarket. I'm looking for a good performance tire like all of us are. I'm thinking about the Toyo Proxes, and the Bridgestone 03s.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

E

I have the Sumitomo HTR+

Great all season tire. Runs awesome in snow compared to stock michelins. Sticks much better dry and wet and doesn't squeal. The best part is they cost $89 a piece for the 215/50/17 from tirerack.com

Go to the tirerack site and read all the reviews. Very favorable so far.

Chikai: Thanks man, my question is when you order from tirerack.com, do you just have to get a local guy to mount the tires on the wheels?

Darrinb...do it man, you won't regret it, the looks are unbeatable...I just have the crappy gutter guard stuff and I change it once it starts getting a little bent up. I'm think about upgrading to the material from www.grilltech.com. The only thing is you have to cut it yourself...but the material is 20 times better!

yup...on tirerack's site there is a list of local tirerack "preferred installers". Just enter your zip code, and it will locate them for you.

Looking back, I wish I had ordered the 235/45/17 size rather than the 215/50/17. I had heard of balancing issues w/ the 235 size, but w/ the rotation per mile of the 215 being so much greater than the OEM Michelins, I'm accumulating slightly more miles on my odometer. It's not a big deal to me, but something to think about.

Thanks for this tip! I was looking for some good material like this.

Nice ride BTW, do you recall the paint used on the headlamps? Soopa's was like a titanium, I would paint mine a bit darker like yours seem to be. Good work.

Yes, my paint on my headlamps is from wal-mart, I'll look it up tonight if I think of it. I think it was just a Flat Silver spray paint that I picked up....
Clearing the headlights was hell to do. It took my father and I 3 days and 10 bottles of Oops! to remove all the old sealant from the light housings. After that though, the Silicone II is holding up like a champ, no fogging issues yet!!!
