Piaas 19224 and 19225 Review

I orderd the bulbs locally on saturday and picked them up last night. Cost : $14 a pair. Not bad and did not have to wait or pay shipping.

Piaas 19224 went into the Road Lamps. They look decent, but still not a match to HIDs and prolly the same as Polarg m6s. Still not pleased but my polargs went out so this is better than having no road lamps at all.

Piaas 19225 is the reverse light. These are pretty impressive and a very nice bright white light. Big difference between stock and Piaas. However, these are not really necessary, although they look good.

Thanks AztecRol for the help and research.

I dont have a digital camera, so its not very easy for me to post pics, but pics of these have been posted b4 by AztecRol, just search.

Amber looks decent on Black, but I am not sure how good it will look on silver. I think this road lamp BS, is just that....BS. I think it might be a better idea to wait for 03 Fogs to come out, then put those in.

I agree, however I now have M5's in and they seem to look OK.

Oh yeah, that will work well with tinted windows. How about some black light? Now thats a party car. Just add some lava lamps and I'd be suppa duppa fly.

get the black light and some blinking strobe lights...hmmm, maybe some lights like on Christmas trees that cycle between different blinking schemes (fade in/fade out, sparkle, etc.)

2 Questions:

1.) Which is better, the PIAA or the Polarg when trying to match the HID Xenon?
2.) What's another web site to buy them from? I'd use that one but I can't choose a different shipping address from the billing address.

Thanks!

I bought the bulbs locally because it was actually cheaper than ordering because of the cost of shipping. I also got them the next day, so I would recomend looking locally first b4 going the internet route.

Thanks for the info guys.

One other question..........When our lights are in high beam, is the HID bulb on? I mean if I get a hyper white bulb for high beam, will it effect the HID? My understanding is that the HID is for lowbeam only. Is this correct?

Thanks!

The HID is Low Beam only. And it does stay one when the Hight Beams come on!!!!! The high beams are 9005 bulbs. I am going to buy the new PIAA Extreme Super White bulbs for the high beams. The model number 19615 for the pair. There are several other brands that you can put it in that are way cheaper. The PIAA's are about $60.00. A lot of the guys are paying like $30.00 for the off name brand.

Scooter should be chiming in any time now with his lighting expertise!!!!!!

how'd u know that??

i agree the 19615 are a good alternative to paying let's say $75 somewhere else...i'd like to search around some more for other high beams on the PIAA site that may b good...i know some people think it's not worth it since it's rare that we use the beams and u can get the same blue housing effect with cheap bulbs, but i'd like to spend money on something that makes a noticeable difference...just my opinion tho!!

Thanks for the info guys!

I went to Pep Boys last night and bought some $40 Hyper White bulbs. They look cool in there. The Polarg fog lights are on order. Now maybe the lights will match and I can figure out something else to put on this car.

just to give u a word of caution, don't b surprised if the lights don't exactly match, cuz they really don't...they're close, and to a degree, compliment the color schemes of the HID's and side markers.

there are a ton of things u can put on yer car since u're in the bulb mood, how bout u get yerself some interior bulbs...Aztec here has some nice pics of how his PIAA's look...much nicer lookin than stocks IMO...get some upgraded floor mats/all season mats and Type S seatbelt pads...if u feel adventurous, go for suspension/performance mods...tons to do

Oh yeah dude, I've been bit by that mod bug!:P

So far I konw I want 20% tint all around, a spoiler, & intake. Just trying to figure out what to do first. What's the best intake to get and does it make much of a difference? I really like those type S floor mats. I went to Wallmart the day I got the car and bought some of those plastic floor mats to protect the factory ones. I shoulda known. They suck. All the time moving around on me.

Thanks for the tips, that's why I love this board.
