Piaa 2100 H.I.D.
Does anyone have these (PIAA 2100 H.I.D.) installed on their CL? If so where did you buy them and how much did you pay? I have found them, but they are about $900. Is there an other H.I.D. fog light out there that might be cheaper?

Which H.I.D. kit did you use? When you installed did it plug right in to the existing wire harness/conector? If it was easy to convert, I think that is the route I will go.

Please post your pics after you get them in. Also if you could let us know if the hid kit connects right to the existing wire connects.

How did you handle your wiring? Did you completely rewire your fogs and abandon the stock wiring to the road lamps? I am wondering because I have an 01 CL-S also.

Could you elaborate on the drilling for the wiring a little. I am definately going the route you went that is exactly what I am looking for.

sure, i meant to get pictures of the drilling but i was too excited...
-if you look at the 3rd picture, you can see the PIAAs have the glass in front and a grey casing. those 2 seperate from each other by 2 screws. this allows you to drill into the backing with no worries about hitting the front housing.
-there are 2 wires going into the back grey case (black/white), if you have ever seen an H3 bulb, it is connected via 2 spade connectors, these are the 2 wires.
-the HID kit plugs into the PIAA spade connectors, then runs its own wiring out to the ballast, then back to the bulb.
-i pulled out the original piaa wiring from the backing, and use a 22MM Hole Driller, and expanded the hole in the center of the housing. I ran the HID wires through this hole, and the kit comes with a waterproof gasket. so out of the back you now have the 3 HID wires coming out that go to the ballast. inside the casing you have the 2 spade connectors.
-so, i had to drill a smaller hole, i forget the exact size i used, and ran the original 2 PIAA wires back into the case, connected those to the HID spades. and put the case back together.
it sounds alot more complicated than it really is. and for anyone worried about melting the casing on the PIAAs, i think it will be fine. when i had the PIAAs on with their original bulb, the case became too hot to adjust, but now with the HIDs in there, the case after being on for awhile, is only warm to touch, i can rest my hand on it just fine.

From what I understand the Xenon bulbs burn at much lower temperatures than the halogen bulbs.
Thanks for all of the info. One more questions. How did you mount the Piaa's?
