PIAA 19224 doesn't fit in the '01 road lamp housing..?
hi, i purchased the PIAA 19224's off ebay. i tried replacing the stock burnt out road lamps bulbs. it plugs in, but the piaa's are too big (and noticeably bigger than the stock road lamp bulbs) for the housing and doesn't fit inside... did i get the wrong one???
here's some text from the listing:
Part Numbers: 19224 Bulbs: W2
These Xtreme Whites are rated at 18W (12V) and they fit any vehicle application with the following manufacturer bulb codes: W2, 921 & 912.

those are the same ones i got and i broke the first set i put in. i had to ream out the opening (JUST A LITTLE BIT) then you have to put them inwhile turning the balb. The blue paint on the bald is the thick part. try that and see if it works
NOTE= its better is you have the lamp out of the bumper.

I had no problems with it..You just have to make sure ur putting it in straight and dont be affraid to push a little. I did it without bumper removal just jack your car up and get it in there.

I rolled a piece of sandpaper (200, maybe 400 grit) into a slight conical tube and reamed out the opening. You don't have to take off much. You'll like the way they look w/ your HID's!

UPDATE!
i finally found a long philips to take out the actual road lamp.. and i got them in!, easily in fact. it was a simple nudge for the bulb to fit in the housing. it didnt fit as easily before cause i was toying with where to push the bulb in when the road lamp was still attached to the bumper.
thanks for the suggestions, they definitely helped!! otherwise, i woulda been too cautious to push the bulb in all the way through..
before i installed the bulbs, i tested it out in my trunk for fun and it lit up signifcantly brighter than the stock/regular bulbs.. i think i'm gonna be changing all of my interior lights to extreme white..

flash:
no flash:
side:
lights off, haha the blue bulbs are hella noticeable. i also changed the turn signals to chrome-amber. it looks a lot better in the daylight.
i'm more than satisfied with the turnout. they're pretty damn close to HID white. highly recommended!!
oh yeah, and i used meguiar's plastx to polish those headlights. the surface was all old and worn down lookin'. it worked wonders and now the chrome glimmers in the sunlight so much more! search plastx for more info.
