Photo Cloak?

check this out!!! I couldnt find pricing.. but Im going to call tomorrow.. that sounds like an AWESOME product!!!!!
"PhotoCloak contains a light sensor receiving these enforcement strobes and immediately transmits back to the camers a high powered visible flash (strobe) obscuring photographic recognition"

Also.. once again.. to prove to people that those plate covers that blurr your plate dont work:

"ATS of Scottsdale, makers of the AutoPatrol PR-100 photo system, assisted in the story. Some of the license plate covers worked when the positive image of the photo radar film was viewed. However, none of the covers worked when ATS technicians reversed the positive images to a negative image. All license plate numbers were easily identified by this negative image process. Should you invest in the license plate covers? Only if you want to keep bugs off your license plate!"

Let me guess, this company also sells radar-resistant paint just like on the stealth bomber too, right?

I have yet to see any proof that these things are any better than snake oil. Seriously, don't waste your money if its expensive...It might work (I doubt it though), but how often are you running red lights and getting caught by cameras?

Its a cheaper ticket to be caught having removed your front license plate than to have a strobe running in the front. I'm sure your local po pos won't cut you any breaks for your strobe in front.

By the time that POS detects the strobe from the police camera, aren't you toasted already!?

Squishy: THis would go on the rear for my purposes.

I dunno how quick it reacts.. but if it has a photocell... it could be split second.. just enough to cause a flash bright enough so that it cannot see your plate...

Im not doing this for redlight cameras.. as I dont believe in running redlights.. but am more concerned with the photo radar DC now uses.... they will get you even at 10MPH over!!!

No, a big enough strobe would overexpose/blind the film or sensor if done right (enough power).

I can look around, but I don't think you will find too many cops that will take kindly to having a "blinding" device on a moving vehicle...

This falls into "interfering with police operations" -- it is NOT a passive device!

BTW -- strobes CAN emit power at IR and UV wavelengths. It would be possible to find some photo radar systems that didn't have visible light filters in their front optics. It could turn out that a UV or other strobe could block or disturb the image without a flash in the visible part of the light spectrum. Just some food for thought (still would be considered illegal in California).
