Those two threads are really more for installing the bulbs (but you're right in that there are a lot other threads talking about this topic).
That Lexus thread mentions the two main places where you can get those Philips bulbs. Looks like suvlights.com is $10 less at $280, plus they're in the U.S. Here are direct links to both sources' pricing pages:
