For People With the Clear Bra???

Who has one and has had it done in the Bay Area? Also, was it made for the CL or was it made custom?
Thanks!

How about in L.A.?

If I ever decide to get the multitude of chips and dings to the front of my car repaired, I'd be ready to try one of these.

Really, the paint job is so cruddy It'd be worth it to cover the whole car, except you'd look like a cheap couch with plastic slipcovers going down the road.

The Dr's car has been pelted by poorly secured stake trucks filled with: rocks, branches, and anything else a moron could fit into it. Combined with the lack of mud flaps on big SUVs, it's sandblaster time on most of the well-traveled freeways and highways of Southern California.

Try a call to Sierra Acura Of Alhambra for a guy that does it. If you find out, do let the doctor know.

Yeah, I have it. It does what is supposed to do. Protect the places where it's applied. The problem is that I lost my windshield first! before I got a paint chip. I hate those 18 wheels, snow/salt trucks and any truck that has a mega sized ass donuts!. Those busters should pay for ( via their insurance premium ) any windshield replacement.....

NH state gov, do you copy ?

Thanks synth19! Good site! But I would really like to see it on a CL before I actually got it. I would appreciate it if anyone with the clear bra post a couple of photos.

Thanks again!

Confusing, confusing, confusing...

There seems to be three different types of protection out there:

1. XPEL

http://www.xpel.com/paint/applications.html

2. STONGARD
http://www.stongard.com/sgcontent/where_get.asp

3. CLEARMASK
http://www.clearmask.com/

The nice thing about Xpel, is they have the brains to have a "find an installer by zip code" site feature (thanks), and I found someone local.

Stoneguard -- bad for looking up local installer, but look like they have thick stuff (a plus and minus) with its "one piece per panel/pre-cut setup".

Clearmask -- looks like the thinnest of the bunch, but some guys in the Audi forum had to get "group" buy together to get a guy to do all of the cars. The have videos of install/removal. The stuff looks like thick saran wrap that gets custom fit.

So -- what do you other Doctors think?

Further examinations:

All materials seem to be 8 mil 3m film. Got a way too high quote for the bumper (from a X-Pel dealer in Los Angeles). $400.00 and he couldn't keep details straight and couldn't figure out how long it would take to do it -- a very bad sign.

I got my X-Pel installed and everything for about $400, which includes bumper/hood/mirror/lights. The clear bra are all 3M product, but with a different patent. The only differnce is the design.

Thanks! I figured I was getting the rip-off treatment. $400 for just the bumper == no way.

Do you have any pics for the waiting room?
