Peep the new bodymods courtesy of our local drunk driver
Long story short....guy backed into my car....took off. My friend knew his girlfriend so I drove to her place where they denied everything. Well, his girlfriend denied everything and make up some story of seeing someone driving off with my alarm going off when they pulled out. I got him away from his psycho girlfriend and he admitted to it after I made him drive to my car and show him his bumper matched the height perfectly...not to mention he had black paint on his bumper. Hopefully things will go smooth from here on out

OMG man, are you under and drugs to be so calm right now? I would be livid. Seems like you dealt with this in a civilized way. Get him to pay you cash for the cost of the repair, upfront, or go through your insurance.
I really hate idiots that cause unnecessary traffic accidents, let alone drunk drivers. Good luck getting everything straightened out!

Be very careful with how you handle this situation, you can easily get screwed!
Make sure you get a couple repair quotes and have him give you a certified check or cash immediately.
A buddy of mine whent through the same thing, he was being calm and willing to give the guys a break, and he got screwed hard, stuck with a guy that never called him back and never paid.
Sometimes it doesnt pay to be nice.
Get pics of his bumper and license plate and the damage to your car.
If it was me I would give him 24 hours to pay and then call the cops.
You got him for the damage and leaving the scene of an accident...

The Arizona heat might bring that dent out
Sorry to see bro.
Hit and run, and had to be tracked down. If I had to do all that, I would have brought some miltary friends with hand grenades. What an ass for causing that much damage and not leaving name and number and what not.

dont' be a nice guy and let him off....i would take pics of his vehicle as well, that has the plates on there as well as the black paint on his bumper. if he doesn't pay up, file a police report within a few days.
some dumb girl bumped my bumper and since it looked minor, we just exchanged info and i tried to call her but she gave me a disconnected number, so i claimed her insurance. she's denying everything and now her insurance won't pay up....minor damage, maybe a small scratch on her car, and some scuffs on mine, but i was trying to claim insurance for the repair (quotes ranging around $700) but now i'm screwed since i should've called the cops and taken pics.
good luck to you....and hope that those people pay up and accept their mistakes.

hol-eeee- SHIT man. when I read "yea he backed up into me" i was expecting some scuffs and paint destruction, not you're whole door being caved in and window being shattered.

I was hit while parked on the street by a truck. Well I don't have proof that it was a truck but the guy took out my tail light and dented the edge of the quarter panel and took off some paint. My car wasn't lowered at the time. Damn hit and runs that was the 2nd one in less than a year
Feel for you bro...it such a pain in the ass getting everything fixed...sure you get a rental car, but I'd rather drive my own car!

File a report with the police and his insurance company. I would go the legit/legal route with this and not settle for a simple cash payout. Have his insurance company repair your vehicle at the body shop of your choice. Personally, I'd have my insurance company subrogate the claim if there was any inertia detected, that way I could get my car repaired ASAP.
