Well I recently got a 01 CL-S but the car didn't come with a navi dvd-rom..I'm looking to buy one so I could use the system but was wondering how could I obtain the pin # of the previous owner? There was no mention of this when I bought it (at an auction). Is it really crucial to using the system or not? Thanks for any replies..and also if anyone looking to sell a dvd-rom pm me or something.

 

i dont believe u need to insert a password when u insert a new navi disk

to get the #, remove the unit and take down the serial # and go to the dealer and they should be able to tell you

 

Call the service department of any Acura dealer with your vin#, they should have the codes. I havent done it before so I dont know for sure but thats where i would start. There's actually 2 codes, one for the navi system and one for the radio. I dont think you need them though unless you disconnect the battery or something like that. Someone else can verify that, i'm too lazy to look in my owners manual.

actually this only works if you gave them the password when you brought your car in... they dont have it by VIN number...like if you go in you can tell them can you save my password just in case i loose it and they will save it under your VIN number but if you dont tell them to and you loose the passwor then you have to pay like $150 i think it is for acura to take out the navi or radio and read the serial numbers and all that good stuff.
