passenger wiper
passenger wiper
okay.. When detailing my cl.. was the same with the tl.. I can raise the driver side wiper to clean/rain x the windshield, but if i try to raise the passenger side the same way, it rubs against the edge of the hood.. I dont raise it because I dont want to scrape the paint off.. Any tricks Im too stoopid to realize that ya'll know about??

the wipers wont stop midswing, they will always go down.
To lift the passenger wiper, you must open the hood.
I just learned to live with it. I agree, it's a weird engineering design, but I guess Acura wanted to prevent buffeting of the wipers at high speed.

This isn't an engineering blunder on Honda's part, guys. The wipers are designed this way so that they can hide (for the most part) from the wind. They WILL raise and stop enough to lift both blades by doing the following:
-Quickly press the wiper stalk upwards to activate the MIST feature and release. Be quick about it and they will move up out of hiding and stop for you to lift both arms.
Very, very simple.

To edit my previous post, to activate the MIST feature you must push DOWN not UP on the stalk. Quickly blip it to cause the wipers to come out of "hiding" so they can both me lifted. No need to turn off the ignition midswing.

Truly amazing what people bitch about.
Hey I noticed that if I turn on the cruise control and take my hands off the wheel, I tend to run off the road. Why can't Acura make cruise control control the steering, acceleration and braking.

Mine does that too! :rippedoff
I have found that on my 2003 CL-S that if I raise up the driver side wiper so it is sticking straight up and leave it walk around and push the passenger wiper up the window it moves and you can then pull it straight up.

That's what I do when I want to put my wiper up during a snowstorm...The wiper thing bothered me for a little while... (until I figured out the trick)... ALMOST bothered me as much as the lack of ow windshield wiper fluid level indicator

I was half joking in that thread, but sometimes the little things that car designers forget about tick me off (well, that and the fact the the canucks have 'em)...
