Passenger seat returning to original position?

When I let passengers out of the back of my car and then move the seat back it doesn't auto slide back to it's original position all of the time. It stays in the completely forward position.

Sometimes it works, does anyone know if my seat is broken, or in what circumstances this function will work?

Just make sure you put it back all the way, dont baby it, pull hard and it should work.

i thought i was the only one going crazy! sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. about 70/30. i think it gets confused. actually i've noticed it does it more often when i, bare with me, unevenly push the seat back. someone's going to tear me a new asshole. when i just push it back with the plastic lever, concentrating the power to the side it doesn't go back to its original position, most of the time. but if you push it back in the center of the seat, the power more distributed it will go back. this might not be what's the real problem/solution but it works for me. let me know if there is actually something wrong with the engineering and if there is a real solution.

mine has the same problem. i think it has something to do with turning the car off with the seat still in the open position. seems like a bug somewhere. i'd call it a firmware bug, but i have trouble believing there's firmware controlling the passenger seat!

I believe the seat operation is based on electrical and mechanical switches ... not computer related.
