um...that's an '03 rim and Toyos. More supporting data but not completely relevant for my '01 and Sumi's
Anyways, the car was not done today...so I get to wait until tomorrow. They have this new cool high performance tire mounter and balancer so I guess if they can't do it no one can..

So, just to update, I had them mounted on Thursday and have put 500 miles on them since. No issues at all. They mounted and balanced without an issue althought I learned that my RR rim is a bit bent. Not a biggie but funny its the only one without a scratch on it.
I'm running them at 40 psi and frankly, the car feels looser - it might be my imagination but it feels like the rear end sways into line when I cut the wheel...maybe 'cause there's actually rubber on these tires. After 48,000 the Michelins were pretty bald.

MikeS, I have a 2001 cls with the stock wheels and have had the Sumi 231 45 17 for 15k miles now. They take a little getting used to compared with the stock tires, but do two things: Jump on it froma standing start and notice increased tire grip, and find a tight curve and you will find the car holds a line at much higher limits. Forty pounds is about right, but I run mine at 42.
I rotate mine every 4k miles.

at the people that think a 235 poses a safety hazard.
i have 235/40-17 on my stocks which are as wide or wider than a 45 series. they fit perfectly, and drive great.
btw, i have personally mounted and balanced hundreds of tires.
