Painting interior plastic??

Hey guys... this is for you turkeys who painted your plastic interior ... My questions are:

1: What kind of paint did you use?

2: How many coats of paint? clearcoat?

3: Does it stand up to scratches and wear?

4: Did you do this on your own or take the pieces out to your local bodyshop and have them spray them?

Thanks 4 Ur time.

From experience of painting my old prelude interior and computer cases, etc. The best for plastic is Vinyl and Fabric Spray/Dye. I prefer the brand Dupli Color. Their cans have variable spray control from fine mist to heavy. That stuff works well because u don't have to prep the area beside cleaning it and is very forgiving on mistakes. Blobs of overspray will eventually seep into the plastic material. It also won't cover lettering on the plastic. It make the plastic look like plastic from the factory. It pretty much won't rub off or peel. The only problem is that it is limited in colors you can pick. Depending on the color this might not be an issue.

I tried regulaur automotive paint. It is very time consuming. Lots of prep work and priming. After that some more sanding and etc. Pain in the ass. After a while, chips, flakes, peels, etc. But u have a lot of type of colors to choose from. Hope this help. If you need any more tips let me know.
