Lightbulb Paint color

Guys, I have black CL-S dropped with 18" Enkei (Evo 5, Hyper-Black color). My paint is scratched, dinged, dull and overall crappy. I need to repaint it. I know it could hurt the resale value, but I plan to keep the car for a very long time, so it's not really a concern.

I'd like to change the color for something different and subtle, not flashy.

I thought about the color of the special edition RX-8 : Black Cherry. Have you guys seen it ? It's kind of black-brown-purple-ish but very dark, but it almost always look black on picture. Do you think it would suit the car well ???

By the way if you browse the forum, you'll find pictures of my car.

I'll find pictures and post'em on monday for those who haven't seen it.

Thanks

If painted properly it wont really hurt the value, in that I mean everything painted engine compartment, removing all doors trunk, hood, basically making it look like a stock color, it is very expensive for this type of paint job. And I know the color your talking about its a nice color.

If you paint it you'll be an owner for a long time unless you don't mind taking a big resale hit. Your color idea could work okay. Sounds interesting.

If you re-paint it a custom color, plan on paying a lot, or keeping it for a while. I would re-paint it the original color.

Not so sure ...

I just looked at some pictures on the web and I'm not so sure about this black cherry. In some pics, it looks kind of :ghey: , like when it's very sunny. I might want to go for a Carbon blue like the celica. I'd like a color that's almost black, that makes you wonder what color is the car.

My car (sorry, big pics)

i like that color. i'm having mine repainted soon. i don't really plan on getting rid of it anytime soon either. i just want the car to look perfect again. i guess i also need to replace the drivers seat leather.

since everyone else is farting around and not answering the question, here goes.
being a fellow NBP owner, i know that if i definitely HAD to repaint my car and just had the above two options (though you've probably narrowed them down to these), i would go with the carbon blue. don't get me wrong, the black cherry color is still pretty cool. but IMO i would pick the blue to go better with the car.
