Paint chipping

Ive got two spots on my hood and one on my left front quarter panel. At first I thought the one was from a rock, but i noticed another one below it about the same size, then another one on the quarter panel after washing my car today. Im taking it to Acura tomorrow, any idea what they might say? Other than, "it wasnt our fault a rock hit, deal with it yourself."

Wondering also if anyone else has come across this problem before....my last car I had for 4 years and never once got a rock chip in it, wtf?

I had a post earlier about this. My paint was chipped dwn to the metal. I took it to the dealership, they tried to give me a problem but they ended up painting the whole thing for free

Should be expected so it's not a big suprise when it happens. It's normal wear & tear. I use the bra & still have a few chips. Paint now days is just junk. Hopefully the dealer will help you though.

I had a little different problem. I had spots on the hood that didn't have enough paint. I had the hood repainted on the warranty.

The chipping is mostly due to thinner "Water Based" paint that is being used. Good luck with dealer doing anything, most people here have not been successful..

My paint is coming off around the trunk tray, and the car is only a month old. My local dealer is going to repaint it for me. Good luck with your issue. has anyone noticed that maybe some colors are more likely to have bad paint issues, or is it all of them?

This is my first Honda....so surprise to me I guess I thougth I bought something better for $35k. I just thought it was weird and pretty shitty when a car is 7 months old and this shit is already happening....what sucks too is that I bought the exterior warranty thing from the dealer, so hopefully that will help out some...who knows....i'll keep you posted

Here is a tip for anyone with a paint problem. First, go to the dealer with the problem. If he won't do anything, call the regional office and ask to speak to the regional mgr. Tell him your problem and arrange to meet with him. If he won't do anything, then call American Honda and complain to them. If you have a legit. problem, you should be covered under the warranty. Just remember, "it's the squeek that gets oiled." Let's see, who said that...hmmm I know Aesop, 2000BC. The way it works folks is, the higher up the latter you go, the more they will be willing to fix the problem...and you have nothing to lose but a little time.
