Paint chip+neglect=rust :(
I neglected a paint chip longer than I should've.
It's pretty small on the front of the hood. What do I do????? Obviously, get some touch up paint from PAA but what else???

Eh looks like our cars were born the same month

Ugh. I'm going to try and clean it myself but i'll prolly have to take it to a body shop
i have a friend who owns a body shop and he took the edge of a paper clip and scraped all the rust from the scratch and then applied 3 or 4 light coats of touch up paint and viola, you couldnt even tell it was there. Remember, 3 or 4 light coats of touch up are better than 1 0r 2 heavy coats. This way, the coats dry better and are smoother.

anyway, i was thinking of rust remover but could only find harsh stuff at home depot. did a search on google and found this:Aluminum Foil.
Briskly scrub rust spots on car bumpers with a piece of crumpled aluminum foil, shiny side up. Also works well on the chrome shafts of golf clubs.
gonna try this, but first tape the entire area around the hole.
I used this kit:
http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog.jsp?&SKU=50860
Rust Avenger, Tool, Paint Applicators.
Worked great!
1. Sand out rust.
2. Apply rust converter (1-3 coats)
3. Apply paint with applicators.
Read over this:

Don't apply paint on rust. Bad idea.
Do it right, or pay the price later.
