Where can i buy the satin silver paint for decent price? At the dealership or one of those online company? Should i also try the honda dealership, if it is cheaper than the acura dealership. Or does anyone in ny area know where i can buy the paint. I just need to repaint my rear bumper, how many gallons should i get? All i need is paint and clear coat right? Thanks again ppl

If all you need to do is the rear bumper I'd take it to a body shop. Probably cheaper than buying paint and no screwing around with a spray gun and all that hassle.

It will be a much cleaner job and will be less of a headache. If you really just need paint, any body shop should be able to whip some up using your paint code. SSM is NH-623M. Good Luck.

I get my paint from Sherwinn Williams Auto. Up there with PPG in terms of quality, but a fraction of the price.

But I agree, take it to a respectable shop. I know of one in Port Washington. It's called Rainbow Automotive. They do great work.

My friend told me about this site.

http://www.paintscratch.com/

However, I've never used it personally.

You can have them mix SSM up in a spray can.

Start looking for an automobile paint supply store.

I got mine mixed in-house with my SSM paint color code.

But I still recommend to just get it painted professionally because the paint and materials are expensive and won't come out how you really want it.

I agree. If youve never painted anything before it can be somewhat difficult once you get into mixing hardeners and things like that. Plus matching it to the rest of the car takes alot of skill, and alot of extra paint.

If you try it yourself, dont rush it. Your finished product is only as good as the amount of prep you put into it.

Pretty common Honda color so you shouldn't have a problem finding it. I'd just goto a body shop and have them do it. Much less effort and it won't likely turn out all that great if you do it yourself. Plus they'll blend it and make it match the rest of the car.

You also need flex additive if you're painting a bumper.

What kind of paint sprayer are you using?
What's the condition of the bumper?
How are you planning to prep the bumper?

And the dealer only sells touch up bottles. Some figure out how many bottles it takes to paint a bumper.
