Out of Our League...
just 1 hour ago from a stop light mk4 Supra wanted to run me so bad on the service road...but i just did not budge...with the fact that my engine light and sputtering still persistantly an on going issue. So as i made the left onto the service road going 20mph he kept with my pace gradually steadying at 30mph...i looked at him...dam he looked so confident and cocky my turn came up soon after and i turned away....
I don't ever think our CLs can even play with mk4s or even mk3s...
Even with a hopesystems intercooler installed the mk4s will still eat us...but it is what it is...
I just have no chance against any FI supra...Just a couple of bolt ons they can get well over 100+whp. On the other hand with 6 or 7 bolt ons we get only 30whp if we are lucky...lol.
With the money i spent on this CL i would have a 500+whp Supra lol...
i owned two other mk3s before my CL and i would not trade it back for any amount of money...
I decided to buy this CL because my supra's headgasket kept going and there was problems after problems...also everywhere i went i saw my supra, just like the MR2s its just getting too common.
I guess my point is that; i just miss my Supras and yet i love my CL. But i know i can never ever compare against a Supra...
You must give to get.....

the cl was never meant to be a sports car like the supra... the only two sport cars are the s2k and the nsx... rl... meh no, but i hear the awd is pretty nice..
point is comparing apples to oranges... so we all know the cl is decently quick..... but of course there are many cars that will kill us...
but damn u owned 2 mk3s and u're only 20... nice.. pix?

This is the first foreign car (as long as you don't count a cool vert. Kharman Gia I used to have) that I've owned, but my last few have definately been in a different leage from the CL.
I just sold a Ford Lightning......fun, quick, but a heavy gas pig, and over the last year I sold both my Mustangs, one being a '93 LX with 400+ at the wheels N/A with power steering and A/C, and a '98 Cobra Vert that would go run some low13's high 12's with ease.
The CL is none of these cars, all were faster, (except I think for the Lightning, this CL feels quicker), but I need somthing with gas milage that is not boringly slow and I'm not going to be embarrassed to drive. The CL-S is perfect for that.
I'll probably keep this till it dies, and this winter buy another toy to start playing with......either an '03/'04 Cobra, '03 Mach, or maybe a '65 vert, and do a resto-mod deal with it..........we'll see. As fun as my CL-S is, there is NO replacment for the tq. or sound of a V-8 getting you sidways in any gear with a blip of the right pedal..........

we all know there are only 2 cars in the honda/acura line up that are sport cars... and that the company concentrates on fuel efficiency and clean emissions and not performance. the s2k and nsx aren't even that powerful, GREAT handling cars, still goes with honda/acuras model of fuel efficiency...
but everyone ask why did u buy the cl? reliability, decent mpg, luxury, and for me... rarity

those are exactly the same reasons I bought my cl, especially the rarity factor. I really like american muscle and would love to own a 2001 Camaro SS, GTO, or Corvette, but it just isn't possible for me.
I was originally looking for a 02/02 maxima SE/GLE, but found the CL-S...no question I was getting the CL just b/c of the rarity. I see 20 maximas a day

Don't get me wrong, I am not bashing the CL at all. It does exactly what it was built for.
When I bought this, I was looking for a good looking car, that was good on gas, wasn't somthing I'd be embarassed to be seen in, didn't want a 20K car payment, and I would not get bored driving. It's all that, and has more luxury stuff in it than anything else I looked at of this vintage or price range.
if it was rear wheel drive, it'd be perfect. I am having a blast in the 3 weeks since I bought this thing, and like I said, I'll probably keep it till it dies!
Now, if it only sounded like my old car in the above video..........

After the supras... tired and sick of all the headaches i bought a 100,000 mile Avalon and used that for awhile till the rack started leaking...
I would not have stand a chance in any gear against that TT supra. The thing in 1 gear sounded like a freakin monster.
And all you hear from my car is the valves ticking in first gear lol...
I got the Tanabes off of Josh@excellerate...Only good guy who actually stocks CL parts and sells them at decent prices.

Thanks, yeah that thing sounded great. it was an F-303 cam with 1.7 roller rockers, in a stroked 347 with Twisted Wedge heads (worked), Street Heat TF intake, full exhaust, full suspension, '03 Cobra seats, I could go on for days. Great f'n car to just go scare the hell out of people with!
And here's the Cobra...
Ahhhh, the good 'ol days..........
