Our cars get no respect....
I was sitting at the local pharamacy drive-thru, when I guy comes walking towards my car. I guess he was walking to his car in the parking lot. I start to notice him because he is intently looking at the car (Acura)and smiling. So, I think to myself "Ahh, someone that knows about cars, I wonder if say anything" He finally reaches close to my windows and says "Hey, is that the new honda " Needless to say.. I'm speechless and mumble something like "No, is a Acura CL" "Oh", he says "sweet car"... Well I guess it was a compliment in the end

I get TONS of complements.
They may not know exactly WHAT the car is, but they know it looks HOT.
Our cars do look pretty bland “out of the box” and that’s why you need to customize and personalize your ride so it doesn’t look like every other Honda / Acura on the road.
I have done this with every car I have owned since 1985 because I hate to see my “twin” on the road.

I get a lot compliments on my POS. Just last night this girl goes "nice car, what year is it?" I told her " go for a ride and I'll tell you" so she did, we're gonna go out next next week...worked out good...

i think we do get a lot of respect...but i think it's a quiet respect...for ex, u think most of the ricers think our car's are POS?? in my personal experiences with ricers on Long Island, and believe me there r PLENTY, i have been complimented many times, and they're always telling me what they've done to their engines to try and hang with us...but it's clear they hold us to a certain standard...even our fellow RSX'ers hold a lot of respect for us and vice a versa...in addition, when i sometimes hang with CL peeps in rice-infested areas, i have NEVER been accosted in an unfriendly mannor...in fact, most of the time, noone really comes up to us in the first place, let alone taunt us or start sh!t with us
again, these r just my personal experiences
IMO, the people who really do not give us the respect r the arrogant pricks in higher end cars who know NOTHING about cars except they drive an expensive one that's fast as hell...i think true car enthusiasts understand the CL's place in the overall auto market and respect it accordingly

I get tons of compliments on my car (bone stock and all). A sampling of those who have said something....
Cop - loved it, said I should save my money to pay for all the tickets I'd get.
Big Ol Harley rider - also loved it. Asked all kinds of questions. This guy was total Harley sterotype w/ big white beard and all.
Guy w/ a sick Camaro - had a 2000 z28 w/ chip, flowmaster pipes, no cats and tons of other mods. Sounded like a beast. He pulled into a gas station behind me - was very interested in my car.
80+ year old lady - came up to me in the parking lot and complimented my "beautiful car"
Multiple coworkers, car dealers, etc etc.
I think most people really like the CL. Only the Bimmer, MB and IS300 crews(no offense to those of you on this board) seem not to respect the car - guess they are just pissed 'casue they spent $G's more for the same or less.

I get at least one compliment a week from the exterior and mine is aboslutely stock.
Most people who compliment it seem to know a bit about cars though. I think it's a sleeper unless you read car mags.
I will say this about the interior though, everyone who has ever sat in it has complimented it, and many of them seemed genuinely taken aback by the look and feel of the interior. This is also from some people who drive pretty nice cars. They all seem genuinely impressed by the interior, and I really agree with them because that and the motor are what sold me on the car.

Drifting
I actually recive lots of compliments. People who ride in it always compliment on the ride and the performance. The sales men at the Honda dealer where I buy my oil filters always love to come up and check it out and ask stupid questions. As fas as strangers go though, people just see a young guy and think it's his parents car and look the other way. Anybody else get this?

I got compliments from two Latino guys who thought my car was a Pontiac
I pulled in an Autozone, they just pulled in. I waited for them to get out first. They got out, stopped, looked and talked to me, "Hey, nice car. Which Pontiac is it?" I was like, "Umm, does it like a Pontiac to you? Cant you see the Acura emblem?" What an insult
