Ouch...prices to install Koni's at dealership

The dealer quoted me 765.00$ to install all 4 Koni's on my Type S. This is in addition to the ~500$ i'll have to spend on the Koni's themselves, for a total of 1200$ to install the shocks.

Just out of curiosity does anyone know if this is recommended, or can I take it to a speed shop (which will definetly charge me less)? I real finnicky about my handeling, and am afraid that if I take it to a speedshop they will FUBAR something up.

Any opinions?

Go to a good mechanic and have it done, speed shop, another car dealer, etc. That is one of the most rediculous prices I have heard.

$70 (or maybe 2 hours - $140) at the dealer for shock install. I am amazed how much your dealers try to rip you guys off for aftermarket installs. I could get a tech to do mine for the above price, at the dealer.

Its time to bust a knuckle and install your own! A friend comes in handy for the rears otherwise JRock is right on at about 2 hours.
Good luck which ever way you go!

I paid $150 to install my shocks and my springs at my local speed/honda shop. That price is out-f**king-rageous!!!! The only big deal is that the back seat has to come out. Other than that, no biggie.

Go to NTB. They charge $50 something (each for the front) and $70 something (close to 80 for each rear)

$120 to have all four Koni's installed at Carboy. I've gone there for every mod I've had installed so far.

If your mechanic is in his 40's, barely speaks English, and was working on Honda's before we even knew what a Honda was, your car is in good hands.

Too Much!

I had my springs and shocks installed for $140 which I think was a very fair price. Don't let the dealer RIP you off!

I agree

We only speak the truth. I am having my springs and shocks installed in San Antonio for $120. The install is not rocket science and is no different than any other shock spring install (w/ the exception of taking out the back seat).
