Opinions Please :)
I am lookin to buy an 3.2CL Type-S... I am able to spend $18,500 on the car alone... I went to this car dealership on saturday and test drove this car everything seemed fine except for 2 things. The first was there was about an 6inch vertical scract about 3inches below the driver side door handle on the out side. The other thing was that on the navigation there was 2 scratchs on the screen it self. This car already has tinted windows which is nice. The asking price when I went to the dealership was $24,300. And i already see that doing a lil research on they're own website drops the price down to $21,980. Which is still about $18,500. here is a link if u wanna see the car
http://www.mcgrathacura.com/inventor...000&make=Acura
I was just wounderin do you guys think i can get this car down to $18,500 or should i keep lookin and do u think $18,500 will be enough to buy one with less then 40,000 miles. I also am lookin for one with out navi cause then it will be a lil cheaper.

are you planning on getting it $18.5 out the door?? If so, GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD luck!! I Just bought an 01 CL-S with 50k miles on it, and it was listed for $19k + tax & liscense. I luckily got em down to $19,700 out teh door, which is about $18,000 b4 tax & liscense. That was the CHEAPEST I found a CL-S for in my area at a dealership. However, you could always go buy private party. Plus, if you're trying to find one with under 40k miles for around $18.5, that'll be EXTREMELY tough. Good Luck lookin around.

ahhh.....well, that car that you posted...you most likely won't be able to get it down, unless you wait til the end of the month perhaps?? Look for a car thats listed for about 19-20, and work from there

because, at the end of the month, car salesman are like chickens w/ their heads cut off...they are running around frantically to get a sale to meet their month-end quota (usually). Near the end of the month you usually have much more room for negotiations. For example, I bought my CL-S on 1-30-04 and they just got it in a few days before. They listed it for $19,000 and they said they wouldn't budge, however my dad told him that we have the cash and we'll come down and buy it but we wont pay a dime more than $19,700 out the door (so basically we said no more than $18,000 for the car)...they thought it over for about 30 min and the salesman NEEDED a sale bad because he only sold 3 cars that entire month. So, they budged and I got my beautiful CL-S

well Dark, keep in mind though, the car I bought has 50k miles, however it is an Acura Certified vehicle which comes with the additional 1 year/12,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, as well as it was inspected. Oh, and they also threw on brand new rubber and new OEM chrome wheels .....for free . It came with the splash guards & wheel locks as well. But yeah, the reason why i bought it was cause it was Acura Certified, and my dad felt comfortable w/ that purchase.

comptech also has a tranny cooling kit you could buy. I think i remember that the problem was that the transmission was supposed to self cool, but wasnt doing it properly. Im not sure if this just helps or solves the problem.

I bought my 2k1 mid month in January. It was an Acura Certified car with just under 35k miles. After walking out on them twice, I managed to get it for $18k w/o TT&L. Included in that price was tint, new floor matts, new rubber, and wheel locks. It didn't have nav, but I didn't want that anyways. Oh, and I also got $13.5k for my trade in-a 2k Jeep grand cherokee laredo V8 4x4 with 68k miles-which, if you know anything about that SUV-I got an awesome deal. The key in car buying is to not be afraid to walk out-sometimes more than once. hehehe-I walked out on a deal when we were $500 bucks off. They called back in an hour giving me the $500 and then some!

Yup, I was pretty happy! I then bought some Comptech headers off of my salesman for $100 plus my stock ones and install-they had about 28k miles on them, so it wasn't that bad of a deal.
