Opinion on Kumho tire?

Are these tires any good and is it something that improves handling/ride over the stock Michelin tires? I have been quoted $78 for 235/45/17 for each.

Just about anything would be better than the stock Michelin MXM4s in:

dry pavement traction (especially new asphalt)
on wet concrete and pavement
in hydroplaning

Make sure you get the top-of-the-line Kuhmos (high performace tires).

If you are talking about the "Kumho ECSTA Supra 712", these are the good tires. They are actualy "W" rated -- they are good for 168 MPH (W is a subclass of Z rating).

I doubt you will have problems unless you are going to remove your speed limiter and go down hills at top speed.

I have kumho's on my M3, there not a bad tire but don't have the grip on pilot sports. But for the difference in price they are worth it..They make throwing the backend around a little easier but that is kinda fun!!! Good in the rain too!!!
just my .02

I've been happy with these tires for the two weeks I have had them. The stick to the pavement much better than the stock michelins.

I ended up paying like 115 per tire at America Tires in the SF Bay Area... Some folks I've talked with don't like tire that ends in an "O". Money is still money... and cheaper tires are good enough for now.. when I get some more money I'll step up to some Bridgestones S-03 or something but my KUMHo escta 712 are good enough...

Sorry to tell you this...but $78, you get what you pay for. In that size....even if my friend cuts me a deal...Re730s would still be like $160...

Hay i got mine last week, Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 it's 225/45/17 Z rated tires got mine at Discount Tire Direct $103 each tire. This things hell a lot better than stock Mich, this baby grip alot and also in foul weather. Best bang for the buck, also check out some of the review of this tire at www.tirerack.com . So if your looking for some high performance tire but dont want to brake you bank this is the tire to go...
