Opening up the comptech axleback sound?

Hi all,

My exhaust set up is currently just comptech axlebacks with stock b-pipe.

Just wanted to curb my curiosity: would it be possible to open up the sound of the exhaust a bit by replacing the stock b-pipe resonator with one of those straight design resonators by magnaflow? (or something of the sort).

I really love the sound of the comptech catback, but b-pipes are always hard to come by.

i was thinking of just taking my old apex'i b-pipe and custom fitting it to the axlebacks, but from what I remember, the design difference is too much and probably won't fit....

anyway, do any exhaust gurus have any idea what this might do? make it more droney? maybe open it up? or is the constrictive 2.25" piping what is keeping the exhaust sounding restricted?

Why not just purchase the Comptech B-Pipe?

Either that or have a custom B-pipe w/o a resonator installed. Although I bet that would sound like shit.

just thinking of a possibly cheaper and easier to acquire alternative to buying/finding the b-pipe.

You should try replacing the resonator with the resonator by magnaflow like you said. I currently have the resonator removed but there is sound of air hissing out the exhaust at lower RPM's, which i don't like. The resonator removal changes the sound dramatically, so the magnaflow resonator sound should be interesting to see if it still has a big change in sound w/out the hissing.
