Opening Day Track Times

Usually around this time of the year when i go to the track its in the mid 50's, not today though. A humid 80 degrees, i usually dont go to the track when its this hot but i needed my fix, havent been there in 5 months. Since the track closed the only mods i have added are the thermoblock spacers.

First pass of the day i went 14.6 , pooped the hoog open and noticed tham my cai was very hot from the long drive to the track. decided to pop the hood throw a bag of ice in there and get somethin to eat. After my car cooled down a bit i made another 13 passes, 9 of which were all in the 14.3 range. the best being a 14.31@99.4 off a 2.18 60'.

I was really suprised to see my car run that strong in the humid 80 deg weather i hope its cooler out next week.

Nice runs Darrin, I'll be out there in a couple weeks. Centerline screwed up my order so I have to wait another week for the right wheels.

Thats nothing, I once had 37 passes at a rental at Norwalk, which makes Milan look like an ice skating rink in comparison.

Solid times! I bet you're just itchen to get a SC darrin! darrin yells, "13'S HERE I COME!" This really makes me curious what times my car would pull out...

Looking at your previous times I wonder if that chip is doing anything? 2 100's of a second difference for how much money? Do you have the intake spacer kit? Might help keep the intake cool on those hot days. Does look like you sold me on an intake and headers for my first mod.

Got to love the first day back at the track with all the familiar smells of burning rubber and high octane racing fuel.

Good one Darrin

with better temps, i see a possible 13 sec pass! you ran almost a 100 mph. i think the thermoblok will make you hit that extra few tenths that you need

All of the NA Auto guys have ran pretty similar times, and a few have been close to 13's,but no dice. It seems like the car needs at least 100.5mph to come close to running 13's w/o a power adder. Darrin how was Milan hooking? I hope to get there either next wednesday or the following.

Good one Darrin

i returned the chip cause it didnt gain shit, u need a custom tune to gain power with the uni chip, i think the spacer kit did help out cause it was 80 deg out and my times were pretty good

it was hooking alright, nothing too special though best 60' i got was 2.18, not bad for all season tires

when u get your centerlines and dr's let me know if ya can rent em out to me for a track day, i'd like to see if i can go 1.9 with those

I hit 100+ multiple times before in similar weather. Pretty impressive for this car, N/A.

The thermoblok won't gain more than a tenth and maybe 1 MPH.
