one owner 6speed for sale 29k miles...

This is a potential steal! on ebay there is a cl6 with only 29k up for auction. I drove 400 miles to see it two days ago. I didnt buy it because the paint job was jacked-scratches-dings-1 rust spot the size of a halfdollar on the pasngr side door midway up on the latch-side seem probably from a hard bump knocking the paint off(female owned...no disrespect intended to any of our AZ ladies out there-you know we love you), and because they wouldnt let me take it to another dealer to get it looked at. Claiming they would have to send one of their guys with me...{its a Benz/Maybach dealer who probably makes enough scratch off their new cars to not give much of a sht about a $16,995 trade in(original asking price). to their defense, I will note that car theft is as common in Chicago as blondes are in Cali, and they were obviously short staffed that day}.They did however offer to put it on the rack so that I could look it over myself(which I declined, not being a mechanic) or have another mechanic come look at it...probably seeing the lack of potential in this offer being worth anything at 3:30 on a thursday afternoon...who knows
But I did drive the thing and it seemed fine! And I ran the vin prior to making the trip and found it to be a 1-owner with no "reported" probs. I called that dealership where it was localy<--local to Chicago--purchased to ask them what they knew about the car and all they could find in their records was that the unappreciative woman who owned it did in fact keep up on recomended maintenence and that she didnt use synthetic
.
I cant right off hand recall the name of dealership the biatch bought the car from but in addition to asking them what they knew about it asked if one of their mechanics would be able to come take a look at the car for me and a dude named Justin said he could do it after work(Acura people are the best) if he was given the ok by the dealership where the car was at. ...Somewhere, I still have his # if needed.
I got that 'ok' via cellphone conversation after I was already on my way home and therefore said to hell with it; mostly due to the paint's condition and color--black cars are only worth having if you have a garage to keep it in and an assistant to clean it everytime you drive it-just an opinion...
...So in conclusion, this "could" be a steal. I bet the reserve on the auction isnt over 12,500 <--the price I negotiated them down to
. And it seemed to drive fine, but dont hold me accountable. It for sure needs some fresh paint and some very minor body work but a 1-owner cl6 with 29k is rare and if the motor checks out it will have many years and at least another 100k left on it. Yes, they wouldnt let me take the car someplace else but being a business man myself I can KINDA see why: if[I] in fact they would require someone on their payroll to acompany me to said location, it would not be worth it based on what they probably pay those people, when it is considered that the dealerships net profit would have only been a grand, maybee, based on what I had offered for the car at that point in our negotiation. ... maybe...
Well, I hope this helped somebody. if you have questions send me a message and being that the auction ends in 15hours i'll try to be quick with a reply. Honestly, youre probably better off hitting me with a call back number in your mesge because I will be out and about-treo in hand.
Good luck. If this car is as mechanically sound as it felt when I drove it I hope one of us gets it
! Oh yeah, make sure you contact them to verify their claim of a warranty. it wasnt avaliable/existant(free of charge) when i looked it two days ago.

If it needs paint, that will negate the low price... While there aren't that many low mileage 6spds left, I'd rather find one with more mileage with better paint... Paint ain't cheap.

i think it was purchased at McGrath which has two locations-dont remember which one. If you really want to figure it out heres the # number for the westmont location (800) 498-0977, just call and ask the service department if they have worked on Vin=19UYA41603A008013. If they havent, the other one has; ask for that #.
yeah paint is expensive but low miles are low miles...2500+- well invested.
and yeah, it was not detailed. like I said I dont think they give a shit about a "cheap" trade in.
not that any of this really matters now that the auction has ended. did anyone see what it went for??

today it rained in chicago and the car was indeed shiny. i just got back from seeing it now. the car seems flawless!! that is the RICH part of chicago and someone traded it in for a new benz=its fine...the thing on the door doesn't even matter at all!! when you see the quality.
how did you talk them down to 12,500?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!
they only told me 15,500 which means with tax i walk out 17,000...which is pushing the limit of what you call a good deal for a stock 6sp, but mileage is insane!
**it was just to see the thing and compare, i cant afford it all at once like that...im sticking to plan A...august baby!!**
someone should jump on this quick tho....impossible to ever find again!!

paint is fine too...its only the passenger side of the car: HUGE mark on door where the gap starts when it closes [back edge of door] and the rear bumper by the wheel. didnt see anything else. and it comes with the factory touch up paint.
