OMFG F*CKING Salt trucks

Holy fuck, I was driving home late last night behind a brand new gs300, when I saw a salt truck coming towards us. I was thinking to myself, "this asshole better not be spraying salt." As he got closer, I could see the white cloud behind him, and he hit us with the harshest spray of salt I have ever seen. HOLY FUCKBALLS. I swear it sounded like my car was getting shot up. I checked my car today, and I found a couple chips in the paint. WTF?!!? Can I do anything about this? It was kind of late to stop, turn around, and get the guy's license plate number or whatever.... I'm fuckin pissed though. It happened on another occasion to our QX4. WTF

Hazard of living in a snow climate.

I got hit once I swear I was under attack.

Now they use sand and dirt.

Dude...try getting hit by the snow when he's doing 30mph and the plow is facing ur direction and ur doing 30mph....I thought my car was going to fall apart and my windshield was gonna cave in. That was scary shit but no scratches. Sorry to hear that man. You can try contacting the town but I doubt anything will happen.

Whenever I see a plow truck coming I try to slow down and pull as far to the right as possible to avoid the salt bath, but sometimes that’s not possible.
I’ve already seen the salt pellets bouncing off the hood.
Look at the bright side; they’re making the roads passable for us.
Without the salt on the roads you’d probably slide off into a ditch somewhere and end up with thousands of dollars in body damage.
Or worse, have somebody with bald tires come sliding into you.
I’ll take a few stone chips and paint blemishes over that any day.

I've pulled some pretty amazing maneuvers to avoid salt trucks. one involved a deserted parking lot to my right, the ebrake, and some stress on my suspension

Most places that are smart use salt. (and that aren't cheap)

Sand and dirt is only useful on ice, it does nothing for snow. And it clogs up the sewer systems (bad!!). Which is why most places stopped using it. You'd be hard pressed to find a sand/dirt dumping truck in Chicago/most major citys. I know Chicago stopped using sand 20+ years ago.

I shit you not, if that rock salt was 5" more up, it would of smashed/cracked my side window!! It felt as someone threw a baseball at my car! Fucken sucks!!

I've been hit with salt, no damage.

In our parking lot they get people throwing some pellets out of the back of the truck, hitting anyone walking in.

Philly uses bryne (sp) on the roads before the storms, supposed to do a great job until it re-freezes at night.

There's still snow on the ground in Maryland? Didn't the rain wash all that shit away yet?

my point exactly...this truck was spraying enough salt to completely cover the whole road in one pass...

When I had my CL I got hit by a salt truck a few days after getting my bumper repainted.. I had chips all over the place! Luckily the body shop re-did my bumper
