Just read the normal conditions maintenance schedule and saw where the oil FILTER is supposed to be replaced at 15,000 miles or 1 year (oil at 7500) and the tranny fluid at 90,000 miles or 6 years. Long intervals??

From reading both here and the TL board, I'd replace the tranny oil about every 15k - 20k miles. As for the oil filter, I replace it with every oil change. I switched to synthetic after my first oil change (which was at 4200). Now I will be changing the oil and the filter every 5k miles. Cleaner oil is better, and it's definitely better to change it more often. Remember, if you're changing the oil, but the filter is dirty, that's just as bad as not changing the oil.....

I've always replaced the filter at the same time as the oil. I think I read somewhere on synthetic a recommendation that the filter be changed twice as often as the oil (I change both at 10,000). I changed my tranny at 30,000 miles.

Just to be precautious with my tranny, I change my fluid after 10K all the time and I change my Mobil 1 oil and filter every 4K. Have to have my biscuit(CL-S) in top condition!
