oh snap...my car just lost 30 hp and gained like 10lbs!

That's what happened when I took my headers off. They are in a box waiting to be shipped. I didn't realize how shitty the OEM head are compared to aftermarket. When I was under the car to take off the Obx, I was able to support it with one hand easily. I went to put the stocks back on and my arm got tired all of a sudden from trying to line them up to bolt them on again. I think they're like 10 or 15 lbs heavier. Stainless steel is the shit. I will miss those headers. I immediately felt the loss of power, my car hesitates whn I punch it now. With the headers, at least I was able to take off and chirp the tires, can't even do that anymore. Anyway, jus had to share w. ya'll..haven't posted ina while. Sup fellas and ladies!

Those OEM ones looks like shit. They don't even resemble the Comptechs at all.

Sorry to hear you had to take em off.

I have 295 wheel horsepower and I don't chip my tires on 1 -> 2 either.

Although I do break them loose at 5000 rpm

But if they don't break loose they don't chirp, ever.

Good tires > *

Damn...I feel you man. I would never, ever get rid of my headers in a fucking heartbeat. They were soooooooo worth the money. My condolences.

Thats odd that you can't .. I can lose traction on the 1-2 shift almost on command. does it everytime when tires are cold and does it 75% of the time when the tires are warm, even after a long highway drive. and this is with my summer tires.....

tires don't make chirp noise but certainly spin .. vsa light comes on and everything

yea, that's funny cuz I could chirp most of the time, cold weather is always cuz no grip. Might be the Toyos I suppose. I'm on summer tires also, plenty of grip.

Yea, I'm waiting for funkeetown to send me the money. The longer they sit here the more I want to put them back on! lol. Yup, anybody that doesn't have headers is missing out. Having those 30 hp unleashed is well worth the money. As soon I took them off and drove around, my car didn't feel that exciting to drive anymore.

That sucks that you had to take them off. I love my headers.

I don't break my tires loose, but I definitely chirp 1->2 just about every time. I love it.

Well It probably has to do with the fact that I can't go WOT from a stop anymore. And even when I do go WOT in 1st gear, once I hit VTEC traction is all over. So at the 1 -> 2 shift I don't have 100% traction so I'm probably still spinning a little through that shift, just no "chirp." I'm ordering new tires this week.

acura1983, power gains aren't limited to 2nd gens only, your first gen will def perform much better w/ headers, do a search, not sure how many makers of headers are available for 1st gen.
