Oh oh...transmission woes???

Anyone else been having transmission problems?? I've been out to the 1/4 mile about a dozen times, did the power braking thing, and also did a 'High Speed' instructor led driving school and it seems my transmission is starting to give me soome problems.

It just starting doing this stuff tonight, but a couple of things i've noticed. The car is hesitating from shifting into drive from reverse (and yes the car is stopped). The auto-shift from 1 to 2 doesn't seem to want to engage (again it hesitates), and when in autostick mode (sport shift) when shifting into third it won't shift (you'll see the three in the LED but the car will rev up to about 6k when you start the shift at about 3k or so until it decides to shift into third). It appears the fourth and fifth gears don't have any problems.

Anyone have anything which I might want to check?? I'm taking the car in tomorrow to get it looked at, but thought it might be good to know what they should look into.

I just had the transmission fluid, flushed and changed about 26000\27000 miles. They didn't do the initial required transmission fluid change at 7500 (or was it 15000) (wonder why they didn't, and I mentioned it to the service manager and he didn't really give me an answer??)

Anyways when they did the transmission fluid change at 27000 they brought me the transmission fluid and it was brown and burnt smelling so they suggested a transmission flush so I did.

Still wonder why they didn't do the required transmissiong fluid service\change at 7500\15000.

Damn hope everything is OK

PS I just had all four tires changed (Yokohama AVS Db) 245/50 17's I think but I doubt that will affect transmission shifting, or lead to transmission problems.

It does not sound good.... I never liked the idea of no trans filter. I'd like to add an in-line filter and additional cooler. Heat kills.....

Service schedule doesn't call for a transmission fluid change at 30,000 miles. No one ever said it didn't have a filter. They said it didn't have a "serviceable" filter. Wayne G at Park Avenue Acura says it is called for at 30,000 unless you have "severe" driving conditions. I would rate drag racing "severe". JMO

Adding a cooler would help any trans, especially a performance driven car. I have not looked at the lines on this car yet, so I don't understand why adding one is a problem. The addition of an in-line filter could not hurt either... just need the room to mount it.
