What is the weight of your SSR wheel compared to
a stock CL-S rim?
I really don't buy the "bigger is better" concept on
rims if it hurts perfromance.
I like more rubber on the road but NOT more unsprung
weight or mass/inertia out on the hubs.
In fact I wonder what a set of forged 16"x8" rims with a
225-235/50or55 series 16" tire would handle like & what
the weight advantage might be?

approx 14 lbs for the SSRs in 17x8 vs. 25-26lbs for the stocks CLS (not US TLS) RIMS. The Toyo T1S in 235/45-17 is 23.8 lbs vs. 25-26lbs for the OEM tire.

So, if it is +/-(3/4)" (.75), multiply x 25.4 to get +/-19...

What's the difference between the CLS & "US TLS" rims ?

I was just saying that a 225/55/16 or a 235/50/16
would also be less than 1% difference than stock
size of 215/50/17's.
In theory a 16x8 rim should weigh less than a 17X8
of the same manufacturer.
It looks like a setup like yours is the way to go though.
A 235/45/17 with 17x8 rims. Those SSR's are nice & light
& I suspect a lot less $$$ than the Volk/RAYS TE37's.
As far as style vs. function.
I could almost give a shit about style.
I will almost always choose function.
I HATE cars that are all show & no Go!
A WRX is Swan & a MR2 is a Slow Turd!
