Offset question...confused???

Offset question...confused???

what would be the lowest offset we could use on our car??? I want to get 18" Velox Hyperions but the woman i spoke with said they have 35offset and she said that would fit our car?? i thought the lowest we could go is 45....and i'm wanna get Comptech Springs too.....so what should i do???...thanks

+45 is starting to get "tight" and what you can get "away with", will depend on:

1. Amount of lowering
2. Tire size
3. Rim size (to some extent 17", 18", 19")
4. Shocks/bump stop changes...

HRE recommends that a 17x7.5" wheel for the CLS has an "optimum" offset of +52.

Lower offset == rubbing on the outside (like the inner lip of the rear wheel well)

Higher offset = rubbing on the suspension or the inside of the wheel well.
