OEM type s mufflers w/ comptech b-pipe

I remember someone had the stock type s mufflers with a comptech b-pipe setup for the exhaust. I have a cl-p and i am interested in this setup because it I am a daily driver. However i still want a deep mellow tone. I have a cl-p so I am also looking for the performance even more. Any suggestions guys?

BTW I know people will respong telling me about the headers, but I want to get a different exahsut setup before the headers.

I feel newbish asking this question but is the B-pipe worth getting on an NA 3.2?

The S mufflers are 30% better flowing then the P mufflers. Just check out hondanews.com and go through the Acura archives.

As far as I know, the B-pipe will give you a little bit of a gain, but nothing really noticable for an NA 3.2. I have the comptech cat-back, but had it installed at the same time as the headers, so I can't really say what difference it makes over stock exhaust. From what I've heard from other members though, it might help you gain 1-2hp at most for a NA 3.2.

type s mufflers are higher flowing, unless you have forced induction theres no gain to be had from b-pipe or mufflers, i just did it for sound.

So what do ya guys think..comptech b-pipe or custom piping. I mean if the b-pipe doesent make much difference over the stock type s exhaust then its just the sound difference right? Im sure the a deeper/slightly louder tone and more performance can be done with an RT high flow cat and magnaflow resonators for a little less than what the b-pipe costs.

The stock B-pipe will not fit the Premium CLs. That is why Comptech does not have a cat back exhaust listed for the CL-P. The difference is the CL-P catalytic converter is about an inch shorter than the Type-S.

I like CleanCL's and Rondog's setup, but I like mine teh best.

I got the idea from Clean's inspiration.

so to fit the type-s b-pipe on the type-p, couldnt you just get an after market cat for the type-s and the b-pipe for the type-s...? would that work?

mclarenf3387 answered your question already.

you would have to custom fab it to fit

Yeah my bad, typo.
IMO I think there is no other muffler that looks nicer on the CL than the OEM oval tips. The only thing I was wondering if It would be somewhat louder with aftermarket
high flow cat and resonator..

no I think you misunderstood me, to get the comptech b-pipe to twork on the cl-p, could you take a type-s cat (and put it on the type-p), and then the fit the comptech b-pipe...? I don't see why that wouldnt work...I suppose what I am asking is, will a type-s cat fit on our P's?

I don't see the point of putting on a type-s cat when you can put on an RT high flow cat with a little custom fabbing.

Nice video green! I supposed thats with the magnaflow setup. Just a little too loud for me, since I drive often. BTW I always wondered if the longer resonators are better than the short ones. Which sounds better?

The longer resonators will definately cut down on the noise. If you aren't down for noise, the longer ones are the way to go.

For those with Magnaflow set ups and RT cats do you have any rasp in the exhaust from the cat? Mine seems to kick in at certain rpms, around 2500 I believe, and when it revs down at 5K.

Either way I have the Accord magnaflow catback with the RT cat and this is how it sounds:

It's very minor, I can hear it when I'm close to the concrete walls on I-5

Thats the best sounding exhaust I've heard on the J32. And the raspiness sounds awesome!
