oem motor mounts
oem motor mounts
i purchased all three motor mounts (oem) a couple of weeks back and just got thru installing the side and front mount. i took a quick look at the rear mount and looks like a bitch to do. does anyone have any tips/advise as to how i can tackle the rear mount? i think i'm just going to go to a shop and have them do it. anyways, just wanted to give you guys an update. after just the front and side mount the interior was a lot smoother and unnoticeable vibrations. i was pretty suprised to how much better the cabin would feel. i can't wait to get my rear mount switched out and get my car to feel like it did 7yrs ago when i bought it.
it really is not that bad. just is a pain in the ass due to the limited work space. i had to drop the fuse box located at the top passenger side down to make more room for my arms. other than that and the strut bar i didn't remove anything else. just remember to support the motor and take the old one out. it does take moving and bending a few hoses in order to finagle that huge mount out.
^ thanks man. just did the rear mount install and once i got the strut bar removed it was pretty easy. glad i did that myself. now i got all three switched out and rides great.
just for refrence purpose i was at 82K when i did the swap
good deal! i have the comptech titanium bar and that thing is a bitch to get off. now you should of poly filled them before you put them in. o well there is always next time.
yea me too, but once you get it off its pretty easy from there. i shouldn't say easy-more like straight forward.
