NSX Type - S
Have anyone of you heard of the Type S NSX? I just saw it when looking up custom NSX's. Seems like japan has a feature where you can custom order one

Just built my own custom NSX Type S...all the way down to the stitching....for 12,607,000 Yen = $107,000

Just saw these on NSXPrime:
dannnng..I want one
NSX Type-S and Type-S Zero, 1997 - Present
Japan Only. Luxury/Sporty model; a more refined Type-R. Features: Titunium Shift Knob (like Formula-1), MOMO steering wheel, BBS lightweight aluminum wheels, Recaro full bucket seat, mesh design engine cover (like Type-R), same colored roof as body, 45kg lighter than regular model, harder suspension.
The NSX-S is halfway between the standard NSX and the S.Zero. With the Type S, you get more equipment (more weight) and a milder suspension than the S.Zero.
Sounds good? The catch is, at 10.357 million yen (about $85,000), it's the most expensive NSX Honda ever sold in Japan
===========================
NSX S-Zero, 1997-Present
Japan Only. Racing prepped car. Features: No air conditioning or audio wiring. Harder suspension than normal but softer than the Type-R. Carbon-fiber Recaro seats. Another 50kg lighter than the Type-S , BBS alloy wheels, mesh engine bay cover. 9.857 million yen (about $81,000). No cruise control, stereo, power door locks, airbags, air conditioning, traction control, power steering, fog lights or navigation system. Honda has come up with a new lightweight lead-acid battery and halved the thickness of the partition glass between engine bay and cabin.

No special order plan (like special trim arrangements) nor performance-oriented models (ie. type S, R, S-Zero) accepted outside Japan. Why NOT? Maybe Honda likes to keep the good stuffs to themselves, or maybe the only U.S. Type S run sold back in 1999 (of which 51 were made) sold WORSE than a regular NSX-T, which convinced Honda of Japan that Americans weren't ready for its more spartan feel and punishing ride in exchange for better straight-line as well as lateral performance.
Of ~8000+ NSX's of all types ever sold in the U.S. from 1991 to this date, there are only 51 (50+1 prototype) Type S NSX's ever allocated to to be sold outside of Japanese Domestic Market. 1999 model year -- one year run only, were sold only in the U.S. under special signature edition (lucky Americans, of all other countries!
). The first unit, numbered #01, was reserved and sold to an infamous Honda Champ Car driver who dominated 1997 and 1998 Indycar/CART Championship and decimated all of his opponents that this special edition NSX Type S bears his name. The prototype, numbered #00, was used as the press/display car in 1999 Auto shows nationwide. The first Type S sold to general public was number 02, and the last one, #50. It ONLY comes in New Formula Red with red-stitched black interior, and is 149 lbs. lighter than NSX-T. 0-60mph in 4.5~4.7 sec., 0.03 sec. faster than -T. Handling is so much better than any other U.S. model NSX's, early 3.0 liter coupes or 3.2 liter -T, thanks to the stiffer-sprung Type-S suspension, and rides stiffer as a result of this. One really has to drive, or even just sit inside a Type S as a passenger, to realize the extreme differences compared to other non-performance models. The type S feels and sounds like a race car (VERY LOUD RAOR-WHINE of the C32B as it climbs to redline at WOT, just like a true mid-engine WSC prototype race car), where as the other U.S. models drives and feels like a really fast, really great handling Lexus (only) in comparison.
