hmmm....put all this into prespective....

get an oil change on that lovly porsche/ferrari and then get an oil change on that very lovly NSX.....tell me what is ridiculus and what isnt in that cost...

There is a big difference in 'being able to purchase a car' and 'being able to afford a car'

just my $.02

Uhh...how many asian's drive Lambo's and F-50's and Porsches...as for the modded NSX-R...if you knew anything you would know that the NSX-R has the same engine and hp rating as the normal NSX!!!!!!!!...And the reason they aren't driving Vipers or Vettes is because they are pieces of shits...they would be left behind so far back in a race like this...thats what makes the 100% alluminum, hand built, limited edition NSX a real exotic sports car!!!

My friend has an nsx and s2000. And those cars are amazing track cars. Especially the s2k for canyon runs.

A Maserati? Where the hell did that come from. That car is overpriced luxury sport GT.....its in a completely different segment than any of the cars mentioned in this ridiculous thread.

Just for the fact you said the S2k sucks proves you're an idiot.

You're just another armchair enthusiast.

have you seen the best motoring videos where other highend cars cant even hang with the less powerful 35k S2000. Namely the Boxter S(near 60k) and M3

I HAVE driven the NSX and the S2000 and bucket loads of other exotica stock modified etc.etc. .Here is my take :
S2000 ,neat car but suffers from the usual Honda disease NO TORQUE !!!!!! you have to beat the daylights out of the thing to extract good numbers out of it .Yes it handles great but so what ? I have noticed one thing in 30 years in America .Americans regardless of how well it handles brakes or whatever seem to always come back to the quarter mile .This is ofcourse not true for everyone and I am not asserting that it is but generally speaking in my experience this is the way it is .The S2000 is a great little scoot but it is as stated by many a torqueless wonder , and as such it does not perform well in the time tested method many judge cars by "THE STOP LIGHT GRAND PRIX"

NSX , yeah yeah I remember way back when the SOVIET UNION was still a reality this thing came out .I also remember many magazines lambasting Honda for giving the world a great car clothed in not so great styling .The NSX is still contender but come on Honda enough already .They cut back production because nobody is buying the car .Yes it is still then as now a partially handbuilt car but so what I could not care less if a pack of monkeys screwed the damn thing together .It's all worthless if people are not buying the damn car (see our departed CL) .I wish Honda would get off of it's backsides retire the current car regardless of performance or nifty technology and give us a car that sells and performs .

The S2000 at least sells but the NSX is a sales dog .Few people are likely to ante up the 90 large it costs to stuff the garage with one of these things if a 'Vette will do the same for half the money.People are not stupid and in the land of the "STOP LIGHT GRANDPRIX" people will buy what hauls ass for less .

Off the soap box I am .Jens

what you say is true, Jens. it doesn't constitute calling either cars garbage though.

this thread was just an attempt to stir up some shit and to squeeze a few pages out of it. mission accomplished.

Mattg , I actually was not trying to support the originator of this thread in his statements .However the truth hurts .I work in a dealership and as nice as the CL is it did not sell and as nice as the NSX is it also fails to bring in the money .Bottomline lose the sales dogs Honda and ante up some iron that moves as well on the road as it does in the showroom and everybody wins .Calling this stuff garbage is ok if you happen to be an automotive engineer and the fruits of your labor are way better than the other fellas attempts to accomplish the same especially if the stuff you just worked sells and moves but the original author of this thread is as you said just looking to stir some sh*t and accomplished just that .But despite his comments there is a point to be made that Honda ought to take notice of .

this is one thing i'll agree w/ you on, because the NSX is out of date and definately needs a lift in the motor category. But all in all it's a good car. Overpriced compared to it's counterparts but that'll change when the new model comes

what you have to remember the car is 13 years old

I honestly think that the NSX is WAY past its prime. It still looks damn sexy, but doesnt perform up to par. I mean a bone stock C5 will smoke it in almost every performance category for almost half the price.

The S2k on the other hand is a amazing car. It's the closest thing to a go-cart in automotive form.

HAHAHAHAHAHAH why is it everytime I see a Mini I half expect the doors to pop open and a dozen circus clowns to jump out ???? Seriously it's a neat car but for that money ??????????? Looks like BMW needed to build a cheap little itty bitty car to counter the upcoming move by Mercedes Benz to the USA with it's Smart cars .Smarts by the way are even smaller than the Mini but they do not depend on retro styling to survive .

yeah, but have you actually taken a look at the wheel placement on the mini?

There was a Mini there (not the one in the above pic) that posted very impressive times at the Auto-X event I took the above pic at.

NSX and S2000 are far from garbage. Honda just really sticks to it's philosophies when they make sports cars so they are always a lil misunderstood. You have to appreciate them for what they ARE and not what YOU want them to be.
NSX , yeah yeah I remember way back when the SOVIET UNION was still a reality this thing came out .I also remember many magazines lambasting Honda for giving the world a great car clothed in not so great styling.

dammit!!! u stole my angle!!!!

i was gonna say that in 3 years of autox'ing, i've seen the s2k whip around the courses in no time...and more recently, the Mini-S also does pretty well...the Mini-S usually is in STX class along with me, so it's a good matchup!!
